Ventilation need HELP

Im starting a small grow in a hallway closet that measures 2'x3' and 7' tall, the door closes completely shut like a normal door and I would have to have the door closed most of the time. In order to reduce smell I will also need to have some kind of cabinet or small tent to contain everything in and exhaust it through a carbon filter. My question is, will a closed door allow for enough air to be drawn in for the intake? Also, is it okay to have the exhaust going straight back into the closet?

the answer to the door question depends. if you have a quarter inch or more between the bottom and the floor then you are probably fine. and the exhaust should have somewhere to go. if i were you i would just cut a small hole in the wall in the back of the closet and put an aquarium light cooling fan in the hole. you can find fans like that that have like 50 to 80 cfm, which would be fine in your size closet. just make sure the carbon filter isnt on a fan like that because they dont do their job if there is any back pressure.

okay ive decided to file down the bottom of the door and maybe cut the carpet short right there to let enough air through. But unfortunately i cannot cut a hole in the closet for an exhaust because i rent an apartment. so if i have a small cab sitting inside my closet with the exhaust exiting the cab from the top and releasing the air back into the closet will that work?

I wouldn't vent the grow room back into the closet but it will work. There is no where for the air volume to go and it ends up just recirculating the same air over and over with little exchange. I would also have extra ducting you can run to a window for fresh air intake. Also hang you carbon filter inside your grow and set the fan up to suck air out. GL happy growing.
