ventilation with filter questions

so this is my first decent sized grow op. im getting a 1000w hps and mh light with dimable ballast for vegging+flowering. i plan on having about 8x8 room with about 440cfm exhaust fan. i wanted to set up a carbon filter but i also wanted to vent my light. basically i wanted to have my carbon filter working and have my light still be cool but wasnt sure of how to do this without 2 exhaust fans. i hear if u attach the carbon filter to the other side of the cool hood it will dirty the bulb regularly. any suggestions would be helpful.

I've seen many examples and people saying that ythis is the right setup. Filter, lights, exhaust. But I've been questioning it lately because don't you want the carbon filter being the last point of contact before your air gets exhausted into the real world? If you filter the air, then blow it through the lights, won't that just be dirtying up the air again before it's exhausted? I'm not sure and would like to know as well. Peace.

i think the filters for the smell not dirt on the light and such. but i have no experience using carbon/charcol filters. any pros out there with some wisdom??

any ideas out there? i just need to have a grow room with a vented light but not have dank smell leakin outa my house at the same time
