Its 1mx3m and about 2m in height. Can someone give me a basic description of what ill need to ventilate it properly. Its in the storage room at the back of my garage running on 600w HID's so if I setup and inline exhaust fan say 6" or 8" to pull the air out, run it through ducting to my backyard do I gotta setup another fan to draw fresh air in? So 2 seperate ducting?

Im not worried about a carbon air filter yet...Just wanna get the ventillation sorted before that!

nah your room is probably not air tight so passive intake would do fine... unless you got a few HIDs in there.. then you may want some added flow to keep the temps down..

imo one real strong exhaust is prob enough

Yeh thats exactly what I was thinking...Just cleaned out the storage room and moved everything into the garage. Havnt been in that room for at least 4 months and I was surprised at how fresh the air was...Little bit stale and dusty but should of been a lot worse for the door not being opened in that long. I had a look around the garage and room and you are right. There are a few places where air can sneak in.

Quick question...If I have a strong exhaust fan pulling air out the room does that have an affect where it forces air back into the room through the non-airtight spots and what not? kno what im saying.? hopefully that came out right!

YUUUPPP sucking air out=lower internal pressure=outside fresh air will move in to balance things out.

gl man thats exciting for you!!! may wanna bug bomb that room a few times before you get started!

one fan sucking air out will pull cold air in, how hot will that get inside in the summer ? the sun might super heat it like an oven cant go over 90 f

yes with one fan sucking out it will pull cooler air in but it will never get any cooler than the external air temp

Passive intake should work but I would not recommend just using whatever happens to not be air-tight for the passive intake... that has a great potential to stifle air flow. Recommended size of a passive intake is 2-3x the size of the output ducting. So that means if you have an 8" duct you need two or three 8" holes for intake. If you think you have equal to that already then go for it as is... but otherwise, I would recommend cutting some new holes.

what i did was just cut holes in the wall and put some fancy looking registers there and one of those blue filters on the other side to keep bugs and debri and dust from being sucked in.

you want your intake to be as far away from your exhaust that way the air will travel accross the room also.

Yeh there are quite a few holes and crevasis in the back of the room...Builder mustve been high when he built it lol cos it aint that air tight. Not worried about heat too much because im heading into winter where I live so the 600w should compensate a little bit for the cold air thats going to be coming in...

With the fan pulling air out are their Any good indicators that the room is not getting enough air intake?
