So ive been researching and debating for awhile and im still stumped...:o

i have a cabinet 55x36x18 HxWxDepth(deep cabinet is)

i need to put holes in it for air ducting and flowage.but i dont have a good fan or cfm.i hace a few normal fans.but using a 400w switchable in ther,im afraid it will get too hot.

ANY IDEAS? i researched and found someone who had a fan like mine built into the wall for intake,i was plannin on doin it for exhaust..
have ducting run up and out, another at the bottom connected to the vent,(which connects to outside)
have a fan constantly on the light, one on plants.put two good size holes towards top of cabinet and put screen or vent up ther soo hot air which rises leaks out..

Im just thinking aaway and researching as best as i can.I only Have a FEW DAYS until my light comes in,then its flowering time.SOO I WOULD REALLY REALLY appreciate any and all help/advice i can get.FIRST TIME GROW SOO LEARNING as i go.

THANK YOU ALL:weed:and I HOPE U CAN HELP ME SAVE MY CROP

I have a tent about that same size tent with a 400W and I just had to open the door to let out some heat. All I have in there for fans right now are an oscillating fan and one of those vortex fans. Without a proper exhaust fan though the temps are kicking my ass and floating arount 92-94 with the door closed. I tried keeping a bunch of dry ice in there to boost the CO2 levels but I dont know if that is actually doing anything.

yea temps of 92-94 is too hot for my liking, lol.im sketchin on burning my place down.never heard of the dried ice trick, should b doing something u knw.

thanx for the advice,i may jst end up wingin it,riggin it up and giving it a shot.check temps and go with the flow.

thanx though, keep posted if u have anything.

Your setup must be incorrect. Because with a vortex fan, you can definitely keep your heat problem under control. especially with a 400 watt light.
My bad. I was thinking of the wrong thing. This is the fan I was talking about. Currently it is on the ground facing up with an intake hole cut out next to it. I know its pulling in air but it just isnt enough.

you can use some inline duct fans for venting.2 four inches should do the trick, get some duct and it would work better. You need a place for the hot air to be exhausted so you wont start a fire..

Yeah you need intake and exhaust fans which is ideal.Using a 400 you will need some type of venting.

decided to use cabinet for vegi room CFL only in ther, soo not really stressin on temps.

but my 400w is goin to b in my closet. thinking and researching and i believe im goin to do ducting for intake, passive most likely..and gettin a 500cfm inline duct fan hopefully for exhaust and that should b the live saver...plus multiple fans to move air around.tahnx for keepin in toouch

I have a 400w HPS setup with one 2'x2' T5 HOFL (4 bulb). My room is around 20' long by 7' wide by 4'6" high...If I have the whole room, my temps only go up to low 80s but once I try to divide it, the temps go way up. My exhaust vent is around 15' from my flowering plants and a 6" inline booster fan just doesn't do it. Get a high grade fan like a vortex or something. I need to get one quick... but no money.

I have a 400W electronic in a 2'X4'X6' tent with no real exhaust fan. I have the two table fans. This is not enough! I have to keep the door open to keep the temps at 80. I would say that as equipment goes, a good ventilation setup is just as important as the light.

thnx guyz.
yea i dont have money either for a expensive fan... a 6' 250 cfm inline duct fan should do something for my setup..plus i have like 3 fans and two in my bedroom.run some ducting to the window for exhaust and passive intake..

i may wire up or get another 6' for intake but peeps are sayin dont waste money on intake fans, exhaust first. IM goin to setup my light without plants for 12 hours and c wher temps are at.IS 12 hours on enough time to get accurate results?
assasinofyouth: agree with ventilation,i made the mistake of gettin light and not havin a good exhaust fan.
