i guess i should add imo. but if the fans and filters are sized properly you could always get away with that many. and i agree with your statement. but for a simple grow with less variables 3 fans and 2 filters can have a variety of arrangements that would prove useful and not require more ventilation. didnt mean to come off as if it was a statement

LMFAO. You have two filters...cause of co2? Listen dude, I am about as fucking far from bare minimum as you can get. Totally sealed. Ppm controlled water cooled co2 generator, huge mini split, chillers, you name it. Shit, I built a ph doser just so I could go on a two week vacation. I pulled 5.6lbs of grade A off of 3600 watts last run. How many fans did I have heating and cooling or "fresh air" ? NONE. How many fans do I run? One, on my carbon scrubber.

I don't know if that was directed at DIY or me, but in the end it doesn't really matter. Overboard on the pest thing? Maybe.. but I tell you what, try paying out nearly $1400 in electricity for a harvest cycle that doesn't ever produce because of spider mites. I hear sooo many stories of bugs hitching rides on your clothes and your buddies clothes.. it just isn't worth it.

To Mr. DIY.. just for the sake of clarity.. the presence of negative pressure (or vacuum as you say) does not mean that no smell is present. This is for two main reasons.. the principal one being that you have to have something exhausting the air OUT in order to have a vaccum, hence a vector for smell dissipation. This is lessened by proper filtering. The 2nd reason, and this is a bigger one; is that the terpines in cannabis (the chemicals responsible for that great smell, are actually volatile organic chemicals (VOC's). So much like other VOC you are familiar with (gas,paint, etc) the smell can passively move through porous surfaces like drywall, wood, etc. Since my room is sealed, this is what I am trying to prevent so I run a single filter as a scrubber.. but only for the last 3-4 weeks.
I'm not actually really worried about smell, I live in a good neighborhood, have friendly neighbors, and I'm in compliance with all state and local medical MJ laws.

Umm,.. a negative vacuum is a negative vacuum, and will work to prevent smell from getting out in EVERY grow room, but obviously in a bigger room you'd need a bigger fan. The concept really isn't that hard to understand. Way to let your anger get to you and not stay on point. Then again, if i couldn't understand the concept of a negative vacuum i might get mad and have to go away for a time out too, lol

Don't put words in my mouth, i never said smell wasn't present. Of course smell is present, in the grow room, and only in the grow room. Don't tell me smell is seeping through 6" of drywall and insolation out of a room that has a negative vacuum, and or negative pressure,.. you say weed i say chronic, whatever.

I said many times i run a Can33 carbon filter, with two 100+CFM fans inline, its what gives me that negative pressure in the room. Try and keep up will ya! lol.. Once again,.. 100cfm is more then sufficient for my 11'x12'x10' 1320sq ft grow room. Doesn't take much math to realize I'm recycling the room volume many times an hour. If you think you need more, you're a fool who doesn't comprehend why you can't smell anything present in a negative vacuum, unless you yourself are in the negative vacuum. Again, 750ppm c02 levels 24/7 365, that would be because the outside air is 750 where i live, anyone smart enough to do the same as i do will have ppm level's equal to where they live in there grow room 24/7 365 as well, the average is 350,.. and rising.

I use to vent into my attic through no filter as well,.. out of sight out of mind right? Ya,.. i use to be young and stupid once too kid, don't worry, it happens to even the best of us. High building i live in too, My attic is even 25'ft above the sidewalk outside, i never thought i could smell anything outside either, (you smoke it, you stick your nose right in it dumbass, you're not going to be able to smell a little outside,.. DUH!).. till one day i saw someone walk buy and blatantly sniff sniff in the direction, then looked in the direction of my home. it was the next day i grew up a little and bought a real carbon filter even though i am legal, don't think if it smells too good someone wont come in and take it.
EDIT: ...never mind, just looked @ what you grow, no one in so cal really wants that, you're safe jr, lol
