I didn't mean it like that I'm just saying the choices you make impact you and your health, why should the govt provide healthcare? can the govt make you live for ever? can they make your life perfect? Why should you be charged taxes because people are sick? if you pay more will that stop people from getting sick? You want a healthcare plan?=take care of yourself, eat right excercise but if you make bad choices you will get bad results.
How does gay marriage make you ill?

If your from Vermont you smoke pot get high and decide your gay and start doing gay stuff then end up getting gay married and then you and your husband end up sitting around and eating ben and jerry's and pouring maple syrup all over it and I'm supposed to pay for the effects on your health of your unhealthy lifestyle? what if the Ice Cream gives you diabetes? what if the syrup gives you high blood pressure? what is you get Aids from gay sex or what if smoking pot gives you bronchitis? It seems downright unamerican to expect me to pay for someone elses healthcare
and what is gay stuff

No gay man would ever encourage the wearing of crocs. Ever. That's a straight disease.

You pay for someone elses health care now. Each time someone without insurance goes to the ER for care, they use the most expensive services and you and I pay for them through higher taxes and higher premiums.

Not only that but you pay a premium for emergency care. I can't understand why so many people are so upset when someone gets something for nothing from the government yet they don't want the the government to demand that everyone pay for their health care.

I think health insurance should be eliminated. The insurance companies and healthcare plans are the problem.

that's what we all think.

that the private health insurance industry should be disbanded and replaced with a single payer, government-controlled health care system in which EVERYBODY, no matter how rich or how poor, can receive quality care.

if you are a rich motherfucker, then you can buy private, complimentary insurance on the market, to cover all those teeth whitenings and botox injections..... but for basic, preventive, and life-saving treatment, we should all be covered....

thnx for making our point...

What I mean is that you should pay for doctors visits just like you would a pizza, compitition would make prices and service great.

Yea, except the training that goes into delivering a pizza is a far ways away from the training that goes into becoming a neurologist.

I'm not saying you will find $5 brian surgery or that you want $5 brain surgery but doctors should have price lists and you go and pay for what you want to get just like anything else.

You cant pay from your pocket now? Also, why would you want to if you can get it paid from your taxes, the government is going to tax you anyways, may as well get something useful from it?

I'll do brain surgery for $5. I'm not a surgeon or anything, but I once watched a season of scrubs, so I'm pretty sure I can handle it.

I took out my own spleen by watching that episode where Carla finds out Turk still has a thing for an ex.

there is no way that would work. people dont have 20 thousand bucks just laying around incase of emergencies. if you found out you have cancer tomorrow, would you be able to pay the tens of thousands to get chemo? or what if you needed an important heart surgery, without which you would soon die? what heart surgeon is going to do all that for the few hundred bucks you have in your savings account? what about the anaesthesiologist? and all the nurses?

and also companies would no longer have the incentive to invest in better medical technologies. at least not as much as they do now. who wants to put millions of dollars of their own money into developing a machine that will not make that money back for them? those machines that keep you and me alive on the operating table cost a LOT of money

I agree with the second part of your argument in that it might stop or at least slow research and development, as for the first part, I think prices would come way down and in order to stay in buisness hospitals and doctors would become much more efficent and offer better treatment for less money, I do think a doctor would work on your heart for a few hundred bucks if he wasn't being paid more by someone else and if everyone wasn't getting a cut of his rate. And does everyone need a heart? does everyone need to live to be 100 in a nursing home and expect that to be covered be insurance? Are you better off if they do more procedures?

well what happens when doctors arent making any money? they stop going to school to be doctors and you end up with quacks that dont know what theyre doing. then everyone starts dying off like crazy. and no, a heart surgeon is not going to do a 15 hour operation that is extremely complicated for a few hundred bucks. same with a neurosurgeon.

however i do agree with you that people are living too long nowadays. why would someone want to slowly lose their brain capabilities and be all frail for 20 years?

Each time someone without insurance? Fuck that, you pay when people WITH insurance goes to the ER. Insurance companies are for profit companies after all. They don't just give this money away.
