I appreciate the advice, but Im not trying to buy 20 chips and sinks. In the original post I said "cheap." Im just looking to pump out a lot of light with as few chips/sinks as possible. Dont care about efficiency much, and not trying to spend $700. Just looking to fill the driver I already have with 3-4 cobs to fill out the space between my other two bars. Ill probably go with the C's.

Anyone know where the best place to get the c or b versions? Preferably in the SE, but not a deal breaker. I looked around for a bit, but all I could find was the D's. Everyone was either out of them or just dont stock.

We can agree to disagree on all these pointssure they work, all the current chips are rated north of 140C Tj.. They would be a little more efficient with actives. you gain more light energy than the little fans consume (and they would bump up voltage a bit)
for some reason i forget they are 68V, i always think of them as 72V like he crees. their low voltage is def a bonus when stuffing them on drivers, quality chips. i also like to run my cobs hot-ish (75ish W) which is about as comfortable as i am with a 140mm passive
Sorry to hear about your dad, hope everything is alright.i got a handful i bought for my own use. some became testers, (2) 4000k 80 C, and (1) 4000K 80 B i think and i have 4 3000k B or Cs that i was gonna use and didnt. all are the non-SE.
i think i will be carrying them soon, at least in the popular colors. Theyre fine chips, nothing against them, their distribution kinda sucks so you buy and stock 50 chips that are constantly falling in price to make a buck or two each, its a tough gig. Not being greedy its just real easy to go upside down when your margin is that thin. I'm hoping that ill make up for it by selling more heatsinks and such.
I still think the cxm22s are better, even with cost of holders they are cheaper than vero B and D. definitely better than a D, i think it will be close to a B
vero C is basically identical to the 1825 gen 5, so a good value for $33 or whatever.

vero c vs 1825 gen 6 vs 3618 gen6 vs cxm22 if i get time.
hard to say. this week kicked my ass. super busy plus my dads in the hospital. little bit of catchup before i can play
older test with vero 7 and gen5 citis (12" free air, before i had sphere, note the wonky low current data)

i havent run gen6 3618 yet but in all my gen5 tests 3618 runs close to 1825 up to 150W and then pulls away. its a good chip for single driver/cob setups from 150-420W. 1825 better for most of usWould love to see the numbers on that 3618. Especially pushed past 100w.

That is a fact but the part about the fans...not so much. Proper grow ops have more than enough air movement to easily negate the need for active cooling up to 100W and probably more but I havent tested any higher.well we can agree that they are great chips, but the point that they will put out more light when cooled to a lower temperature is just a fact .
but how you use them is up to you. thats what makes cobs great, the wide application range. one guy on here would continually give me grief that it was "wrong" to run chips at 100W or more. I say there is no "wrong" as long as youre within chip specs (275W or so for a vero C)
Ok, I just read on your page where it says they are dimensionally identical to the clu048 for accessories. I missed that before. That makes things easy.cxm22 are same size as clu048. the 133mm heatsinks i have are as good as 140s as they have a larger number of skinny pins

thats bogus. same simulator will give you over 300 lm/W at low currents. at 19.2W youre more in the 180-190 lm/W range with a vero C real hard to get over 190 with any COB. veros are good chips but theyre not magical
I'm going to sue Bridgelux for false information and demand to get compensated in 29 C's !im just saying the simulator is completely wrong and does not match either the datasheet or how cobs behave in real world.
