Very old autoflower

I’m into my first grow, but due to me f’king around with lights, cupboards, spare bedroom and eventually a grow tent, I have kept my first plants in veg for months… or so I thought. During their ‘spare bedroom’ period, they started to show sex, and I tossed out the males. I also cut some clones too. But, the pistals grew, and the scent got stronger, and Im guessing they had gone into flower stage, although the light was 18-6. I still held them there, and one of the plants (the eldest) started to look yellow, and I did as much as I could, ie magnesium, zinc spray etc. A few weeks later I transferred them to their new tent home, and after a week of that I flipped the light to 12-12. They all took off and flowers are appearing great, but I’m wondering, can a auto die of old age if kept 18-6, whilst still immature as such? I wanted to keep a mother, but I guess that aint happening if the plants are auto huh?

No the auto will not die if kept at 18-6 for months, it will still flower and finish regardless of how much light you give it.

Some people do 24/0 for autos throughout the entire plant life to get the biggest yield possible.

Must have been a nutrient issue then.

Kelp liquid, Epson Salt, General purpose Veg/flower food, Zinc spray on leaves (after yellowing). I think I started the nutes (apart from Kelp which was earlier) a little late, some weeks after repotting in Coco, so maybe that didnt help.

Autos don't stay in veg for months. You have photoperiods.
