Hello to all!

Im numbering all my questions so shoot me what you got and help a brother out in this time of need..
strain = ak-47
dirt = miracle grow, moisture control

Equip available:
LighthouseHydro BlackStar 135W

Equip currently used:
Bathroom fan (exaust type) top+light fixture(17w 6500k)
2x 23w CFL 6500K
2x 14w T5 6500k
2x 12v PC fans

This is my very 1st grow, im new to the "art" so bare with me here, Im just tired to pay for what i consume and it was about time to get a productive hobby... i believe to have all the very basic stuff covered BUT I DO APRECIATE ANY FORM OF INPUT! If i can squeeze 1.5oz of this baby im a happy man
After some research I built my own custom made setup on plywood, 2"x4" and mylar, the unit is 44"H x 22"W x 15"D
Im in a very small 1 bedroom apartment, and I had to build this way.. thats why the choice of bucket, fans, light etc (very stealth, noise, odor...)

1. The tip of leafs turning yellow: Is this a problem/common ? should I chop them as I see ? several spots on the plant is starting to concern me..

2. Uneven grow: my bud told me if the roots are not straight down this happens and it can be bad, Im pretty sure the roots are not 100% going down but I am concern if this will affect me in the new future

3. NOOB transplant left the plant way too high: I can fill up the bucket with more dirt but Im not really sure if its necessary at this point(?)

4. I FuCking drop the blackstar light on the plant: I believe that caused one of the top canopy leaf on the pics to grow weird (not really sure), should I chop it out ? let it be ?? what you do when this shit happens?

5. The UFO light DOES GENERATE HEAT IN CLOSED AREAS, TOO MUCH OVERALL HEAT: I was on the wrong belief that LED does not produce heat, they do of course and thats why they have 3 fans on top! could not keep the setup closed (would go up to 90F easy..)so I had to swallow my pride and go to plan B: CFLs, as a matter of fact I just swap the whole setup to CFL and tonight it will be its first night.. pics follow. Anyone can tell me if 2x23w (6500k 1450Lumens) CFL + 2x14w T5 (side ~1300lumens each)+ another 6.5k 17w (top) will do for 1 plant veg and then flower ? I will be switching the 3 CFLs to 2700K once its time to flower.

6. Flowering, dirt nutrients: anyone knows a easy quick mix i can buy for my setup? home depot/lowes kind of deal? i dont need top of the line and im WAY over the budget already..

7. SCROG: I just heard about it very recently, would it be do-able on this setup? could a noob like me could do it ? if not any words on prunning or super-croping? Im trying to maximize my 1 plant deal to its best, but i have no idea on what to do with plants, shit i dont even think i ever planted anything before

+info:
everything covered on mylar, 2 buckets: top perfurated to allow extra water to sink and bot has 1" to store all extra water. The white perfurated pipe goes to the very bot of everything and I add a little bit of water to it everytime i water because i intentionally left 1 small piece of the root touching the base bucket so its always "touching the water and receiving nutrients" (?)
Have in mind that the original setup was supose to be on the UFO LED + T5 on the side from clone to bud, the PC fans(2) are not very powerfull, they just provide a light breeze and air circulation(cant feel much after 8" away), im pointing them directly on the plant as the CFL setup now is sitting on 85F

the setup gets hot when closed, I cant leave it open anymore because I cant have any odor. I had perfectly sitting at 79F with the BlackStar (pic) and no door but either I get kicked out of the condo, or my cat will chew and eat the shit of my plant (he is a pot-head as well..), so i closed about 3 hrs ago and on the CFL sits at a constant 85F

the nutrients i got with my buddy that is growing the AKs on a hydro setup (hydro nutrients), he told me it should be fine to do all veg with what i have (~2 gal) and then water till flower (because the dirt will keep the nutrients). I saw a lof of issues with over feeding, so Im mixing his stuff all on 50/50 with filtered water, let me know your toughts on that

power consumption:
old setup: 185W total (2xT5 + 2xPC fans + bathroom FAN + blackstar
current: 115W total (same but the 3CFLs instead of the LED BLACKSTAR)

ANY ANSWERS/SUGESTIONS/IMPROVEMENTS/RANTS WILL BE MUCH APRECIATED, i brought this baby on a 6hr trip and i've been doing my best to keep it up! I got no weed ATM:wall: (spent all $ on the setup) so forgive my anxiety.. Im hoping to get some good advices here

You need far more air exchange and air movement. Water only for a week and transplant now is suggested. Nutrient mix sounds OK off the bat but withhold any feedings for a week!!!

my question is, What do you feed it, because mirical grow is usually MG soil. You might have nute burnt it(why the tips are browing) Also try mixing in some Epsom salt to your water, roughly 2 TBS per gallon of water, it could help with the light green color and yellowing. Cheers.
EDIT: just to add, your plant might be lacking in phosphorus, I just noticed the purple stems. but its not a big issue, most of it is green(i think)

  • Hey thanks for the input, there are 2 small pc fans circulating air flow on low levels and one big 40w bathroom exaust fan on top sucking all air out constantly, all fans run 24/7 and the container that it's in is about 8" deep, so I believe to be its final bucket.

Im not really sure bro, it's the same as what my bud is using on his hydroponic veg setup, I can give him a call tonight but it does make sense that miracle grow comes with some nutrients + what I'm adding = too much..
any suggestion on how to get the phosphorus in the feeding water? Should I keep up with water only for a while?

The phosphorus is just a minor thing, not somthing that you should worrie about. it only matters when your entire plant is basicly purple, lol. If your feeding them toomuch, you should flush the plant and transplant into coco coir. My plant had nute luckout and was stunned, i threw it in coco and it exploded. Thats my best advise for over fert. And for the watering, after you flush, you should just feed water if the soil is MG, untill around 10 inches or so.

You think I could just keep up with 50/50 water/veg nutrients ? My other bud just killed his LA Confidential strain after a bad flush.. Im really leaving the flush for worst case scenario, i would prefer explore other (if any) alternatives... But I'm def getting out of miracle grow for my next clone...

Miracle grow is not for cannabis, i learned it the hard way haha. As far as the flushing goes... If your over feeding, flushing is the cure. If you flush your plant, wait for it to be moist soil... not too dry or wet, transplant into coco coir, and give her a feeding of just water, she should be fine. If anything happens, throw me a message and i can help you out. If he lost a plant to a flush, he must have done somthing really wrong, flushing is the way to start fresh to fix most problems. Its not somthnig that is risky and only a last case thing, my buddy had to flush his plant once a month, usually because of bad PH, but once you correct what you did wrong after flushing, it should be fine. Also as i said, since your in MG soil, keep just feeding ph proper water, she wont need any nutes for a good bit, Expecialy with miracle grow.
