Very uncommon?

ive never come across this in any of my outdoor grows. so ive got 3 plants in a closet (400watt hps) and the 1 bagseed sativa is taking forever i think im at week 15 flowering... my question is what do i do if the lower flowers mature quicker and are ready to harvest while the main cola is still growing and filling in. hairs are 90% white or cream colour. overall there arent many tricomes visable to the naked eye while the smaller buds looks packed with crystals. is it okay to harvest the lower buds without effecting the flower growth at the top?

Well, I've seen some of our better growers chop the main colas, and continue flowering the rest, without an issue - so I would think you would be ok doing it the other way too, gotta be less stressful I think, to cut off smaller side branches, than the top one.

sound about right to me. i will take off 1 branch each day when that much anticipated day comes. weird tho because the bottom regions recieve less light n yet buds are maturing faster. pistills look darker each morning. maybe a root or nute problem

i can't think of any reason why cutting off the lower branches would be detrimental to the main cola. but i never have so it's pure speculation.

lift them up
thats what i have been doing but just recently put them down so all 3 are on the floor lol they are getting so big! i didnt know 12/12 from seed was so effective for fast growth. anyways if i raise even the 1 plant next to the tall girl it will block out SO much light. leafs are already touching walls and closet door. i cant complain tho. 1st grow 3 different bag seed all turned out to be female. 2 sativa 1 indica :)

you CAN harvest the ripe parts. its a common thing. I do it sometimes as well.
Some sativas need a LOT of light to ripe. the main cola is the biggest one and requiers the most light.
I had a sativa (sugar haze) which got to 25 weeks and didn't finish. I got rid of it as it was - straight to the garbage.

true but ive just never seen or read in my experience about the main cola finishing last. usually reversed. its also getting plenty of light lol and i dont see why you would throw out a plant if it had buds ready to smoke. 25 weeks is like 6 months dude lol if this was indoors i can assure you something was wrong with your plant

some sativas just need a LOT of light - sunlight. my 400W doesn't give off enough light.
it produced smokable buds, but never ripened.
Some strain just don't do well indoor.

thats true. mine has taken forever but is ripening very well. flowers are too heavy for the stems. i have a rope around it not too tight. seems to be working. its my 1st indoor grow. i will be getting my medical marihuana license in 6 weeks. to leagally be in possession and grow 4 personal plants for my own use. cant wait.
