Montana Army National Guardsmen face trespassing charges after reportedly landing a helicopter on a private ranch to take elk antlers before flying away.
We launched helo's all the time from the ship in the Caribbean - one of my duties was refueling post flight. Normally they would take 6-800 lbs of fuel but once the bird only took a couple hundred ?? Then I noticed all the conch shells & beach goodies on the floor and sand on the tires.
Turns out they landed on a really remote sandbar & kept the engines running with one of the crew on the radio & went beach combing. Lol
Our Skipper was PISSED !!
Beale is having an airshow on my birthday weekend! I'd much rather have that than a parade any day. These new items will be on display also...
"Catch a glimpse of the incredible aircraft that will dominate the skies — including the cutting-edge YFQ-42A and YFQ-44A Collaborative Combat Aircraft, on display for the first time!"
I'm really surprised they are showing these off...
It's funny you ask that. In order (as far as my memory will allow)
Smoking weed in Great Lakes between BE and Electrician schools. (luckily the Navy is really disorganized, and I was able to become an Electricians Mate before they noticed I was an E2 and a push button candidate. And those two things can't exist together)
Hair touching collar across the pier from the Saipan getting Gedunk. (an ice cream sandwich in this case)
The haircut cost me my civilian clothes. I went to the beach in PR in dress whites, came back aboard in civies. As Pink said, I was very drunk at the time.
Then lastly, I passed the Whiz Quiz. We were in Gitmo when I flew back to VA.
Two of my three birthdays in the Navy I was in the Master at Arms shack signing report chits. The last year on my birthday I didn't go anywhere or do anything.
