Video Camera in Grow Room (Check it out)

Just a silly upgrade to one of my grow rooms, added a camera

it gets old having to go out to the room and open up the tent every time just to check the temps or see my girls.

Plus I wanted to see them in the mornings before I went to my college classes without interrupting their darkness.

Web cam became out of the question because I didn't want anything "live streaming" so I picked up a simple security camera for about $50

Running the wire wasn't an issue as I have a lot of electronics so it just looks like another cord but I set it up so it's easily removed if need be. Now I just flip to my composite channel on my bedroom tv whenever I want to check in on my girls

View of it on the tv,

Ignore the temperatures, I had the fans off so I could do some tidying of cords :hump:

it has an infrared option as well, Tried it in a pitch black room. Felt like I was on paranormal activity

Still haven't gotten a straight answer as to whether or not infrared effects the photoperiod? Most of what I have read said it does not, But they're little red lights so I'm not sure how it wouldn't...

Infrared is detected by the plants. The amount from a little camera is insignificant. And it is from the red end of the spectrum so I wouldn't worry about it. Guarantee you large commercial grows in smart countries like Canada have these cams everywhere.

There are a lot better cameras out there to do a time lapse with, Simply by getting a quality security cam + DVR system or using an HD web cam with an integrated software program for your computer (lots of videos about this on youtube)

I just didn't want to spend the extra $$$$
