My Story:
So dry ice extraction has been getting more popular recently. When I stumbled upon it last year I really couldn't believe it could be so simple. I gave it a shot and was quite impressed.

However; the generic bubble bag I bought suffered from major quality control problems (despite paying $35 bucks for it at a local hydro shop.) The waterproof coating seemed to flake off and this brand of bag was too small to slip over a 5 gallon bucket.

Without sounding like I'm bashing the other bags out there (some are really nice - others not so much) I decided to make my own - right here in the USA. After learning how to use a sewing machine and after testing a few different designs I came up with an elegant solution to sealing the bag for shaking. I also choose to use a high quality fabric that didn't have that coating that flakes off.

I've just recently finished up testing the final bag and I've made a demo video worthy of this awesome method for making hash.

It's been a real fun project so far and the bag works great. Leaf hash is awesome for cooking and the bud hash is a treat like no other.

What experience have you guys had with dry ice hash? Any tips or tricks?

Interesting, never had dry ice hash. How does it compare to if you ran the same material to make bubble? Look like it is more of a kief consistency.

It's definitely more kiefy (powder) but it depends on the quality of what you use. For instance, the first run on a bag of popcorn buds or seedy buds (seedy colas work great) will produce a golden sticky keif that can be rolled into balls like play dough. If you run your trim through it will be more powdery and will be greener. I typically use it for cooking.

I recommend you try it sometime. You can find a dry ice dealer near you by going here http://www.howtohash.com/finddryice.html

It's pretty fun - like a science experiment but far more interesting ;)

Ugh i hate when people can't just link the actual content. No one wants to go to your site to have to click a link that goes to another site. Link the actual site next time plz.

based on some user requests I've gone ahead and made some with a 150 micron screen. I take it everyone gets better material with a finer screen just like with water extraction, right? Definitely an improvement in flavor.

I like the dry ice method when I have only like 1-2 oz's of trim and shake. For like a QP of trim and shake, I do the bubble bag technique. You really get around the same yield if you do it correctly, but doing the bubble bag for 1-2 oz's is WAY too much work for it.

Infact, I ended up with a little over 12gs of hash from doing the bubble bags yesterday =) (pic is from my phone so quality isn't the best)
