vinagar can be used with about 2 tbs per 5 gal of water or so and water with it every time if your doing a soil grow. but you will have to watch out for gnats or fruit flies, they love and are atracted to the smell of it. use a ph tester to test your water before and after each tbs and adjust accordingly

I wouldn't recommend either of those. Take baking soda: Sodium Bicarbonate...which will only compound your problems. Vinegar is not a stable acid, so when you think you've balanced everything, a day or two later, the ph in your resevoir or bucket-o-water is out of wack again. I don't have the chemistry major to tell you precisely why just not to do it. A liter of ph-up and down is only about 10 bucks each and will last the average home grower for years.

this is true if your doing a hydro grow. i dont do hydro, just soil. it works for me just fine in soil even though it probably dosnt need it. good point punk.

i personally use lemon juice and was just using it earlier today...my tap water ph is 7.1 and with a half cup of lemon juice the ph drops down to 6.4 and sometimes below its very easy to use just make sure you are testing your ph at all times!

I use Vinegar for temporary ph down just for a quick fix but Ph products are available for a reason, more efficient i do believe is the reason.
