Been a while since I last updated.
Gotta start a little off topic here, I freaking HATE Windows Vista, had Vista crap out on my desktop I can only run Safe Mode w/ Networking. I cant transfer pics from my camera until I get a new OS. So again I have no pics and this time its really a shame, I have some nice budporn.

My 150 watt HPS bulb that I used for vgging went, I have to order a replacement ASAP.

GHSC The Church:

My first lady is now 1 month into flower and I couldnt be happier w/ her. I'll bitch about the germination rate all day but my 1 survivor is a beauty. Last week it started showing some purplr hues in the stems and leaves. I was worried there was some stress issue but she looked VERY healthy and strong. The other day I started to see hints of colors in the colas. The buds are already very dense and large, the largest and fastest in my grow. The buds are SUPER sticky already and have now taken a much more pronounced sweet berry smell. I saw a purple pheno on another forum and Im thinking my 1 survivor is that pheno.

The clones are all rooted and now vegging nicely, VERY easy strain to clone. Im in love w/ this strain so far, if she smokes as well as I expect its gonna dominate my grow. I actually have to promote stretching in the plant that I want to take cuttings from, the nodes are that close together


Barney Farm Violator Kush

My 3 little VK are also 1 month into flower and look great. Nice dense buds, already at the size I expected them to be at harvest. I love this strain too. Another keeper in my grow.
They dont clone as quickly as The Church or Hasplant x Haze, but they do clone at an acceptable rate.

DNA Genetics Hasplant x Haze
I have 1 thats 1 month into flower and just started another this week. This strain I like but the Sativa dominant growth pattern doesnt go well in my tight space thats filled w/ Indica dominant plants. The oldest girl looks good, she really took off last week and the buds are starting to fill out. Definitely the slowest grower in my op. As much as I like the strain, i think Im gonna have to let it go in the interest of space and flowering time.
I have a few clones vegging, Im gonna toss them outdoors in a couple week. They've all been topped for 4 tops and should go berserk outdoors.



I ran into the guy that got me started growing over 20 years ago. We lost touch after I moved and moved and moved again across country. So after talking a while and smoking a J of his Blueberry and my Hashplant we started to talk about growing and "the old days". I told him how grateful I was for his help back then and that I had started growing again.
He asked me if I wanted his old 400 watt MH
So im going back this week for a visit bearing gifts:
1 clone each of Violator Kush, Hashplant x Haze, Kushberry x Skunk; a seedling of Sharksbreath and 20 seeds of my "Citrus" strain. He has some space outdoors that he mentioned and I wanna surprise him.

Switch to Windows 7, its a nice OS with pretty much all the good stuff from Vista and without the bad parts. Works pretty nicely and way faster on dual core or higher computers.
If you have anything below a dual core and 2GB RAM go with XP for compatibility or 2000 Server for stability.

But do it fast, I can't wait to see what you've been up to until now

Another quick update without pics....

I had to post about the Violator Kush, holy shit is about all I can say. This strain is an absolute beast. My plants are at just about 6 weeks flowering and the tops are so dense and heavy that they were on the verge of collapsing!! They are all now staked and tied to the walls in my closet. Im serious these plants are insane, MASSIVE and dense tops that wreak, and are oozing w/ crystals. Cant wait to get to harvest time, my mouth waters when I tend to my flowering cabinet. The smell is starting to become an issue, gonna have to grab some fresh carbon, im hoping some fresh stuff will help w/ the smell.

Im sold on the VK, it will stay in my grow as long as I grow.

This is my first run I grow mj that beats my carbon filter.
I run a 420-450cfm rated carbon filter with a 380cfm vent, 5" cooltube and about 8 meter of tubing. Meaning much less air flow than 380cfm.
It stinks.
I thought it was my carbon dying so I've replaced it. Then I thought it was because the carbon wasn't the same as the one there was in there in the first place.
Then I tried another brand. Then I bought a new carbon filter. (yes - thats a lot of excess carbon in my house and a LOT of money spent)
Finally I realized that its just too stinky even with my over-rated carbon filter. The bigger one wouldn't let any airflow. So I'm living with the stench.

I gave up on scrubbing the air, and now I'm just using a "coverup", and it seems to work well so far.
I took my filter off, drilled a hole for the hose in the side of a 5 gallon bucket.......drilled multiple holes on the rest of the bucket EXCEPT the bottom 3 inches, and put about 1/2 inch deep layer Fabreeze liquid into the bucket. Cant smell dope in the room at all now......Im happy didnt cost me a dime and it does the job.

The first Hashplant x Haze is at 6 weeks now and has started to take off nicely, this first one I tried lollipop for the first time and has 4 main colas. The buds are starting to get dense now and she is really frosted. The smell is magnificent, kind of a melon smell to her. My first go ended flowering early and it didnt get to this point. I am VERY happy w/ the strain now and will be keeping it in the grow



LOL i keep going back and forth but so far I have to say that the 2 top strains I have are this and the VK....while The Church seems to be a decent yielder w/ a shorter flowering cycle than the VK or HP x Haze it doesnt seem to be quite as dank smelling or frosted...........I wanna keep my grow to 3 strains and I have 1 left to really give a full grow with, I germed a seed of G13 Lockstock last week and now have a happy seedling going. So I am saving 1 clone of The Church until I grow out the Lockstock and see whats what/ 1 of the 2 strains will be kept in the grow along w/ VK and HPxHaze....
Ive been taking pics the whole time so when I finally get the computer issue solved theres gonna be a HUGE update...

Thanks man, Im gonna get a Macbook for the family and the desktop will get a fresh install of Windows 7 after I format the drive and throw in some more RAM.
OK on to the news, so I'll be having pics soon, LOL just gotta go grab the RAM and a Windows disk.

I harvested my first Church plant, was a decent yielder w/ the 2 tops weighing 99 grams wet at harvest. After drying and now 3 days of curing it tastes good, not great but good...the high is also good, not great but not bad, kind of an up high; no couchlock. Not really stoney enough for me, what I expected. Good all around weed, nothing spectacular but nothing lacking either; I'd grade it at a B-

I also just harvested the first of my "pygmy" Violator Kush plants. I had 3 very small plants 12-15 inches tall, pretty much bud from the soil up though. I'm thinking of going SOG style using VK and this was my first try, gotta say Im pleased w/ the results. I got a wet weight of 161 grams from the 3 little ladies.

I have to say that at this point the VK seems to be the best or very close to the best pot Ive ever grown in all my grows. The tops were droopy when I harvested from all the weight. The tops are denser than any strain Ive grown, its incredible. My mother plants pheno is great, a heavy cherry smell w/ a hint of perfume. When I trimmed the 3 ladies our entire place WREAKED like cherry candy The buds are very dense and super frosted


The first Hashplant x Haze is at 8 weeks and looks like she needs 2 more. The buds are just starting to get some real density, definitely a much slower and longer flower cycle than my Idnicas but I love the smell and frost she has developed. Very nice melon smell and tons of trichomes, probably gonna stay in the grow, just gonna have to start LST and multi top this strain to keep some kind of canopy control.

The Sharksbreath is now 3 weeks into flower and looking OK, the Lockstock seedling is also doing well, she is a nice looking Indica w/ pretty tight node spacing.

Ive been slacking on the journal,not on the op though
Ive added my 150 watt HPS into the flowering room and am using that in addition to the 400 watt HPS.So i can run a few more plants in my flowering area.

After having harvested a few of the strains and being able to compare the quality and yields of them I'm ready to eliminate The Church from the grow. Above average yield just not a high enough quality buzz or taste. Kind of a generic mid grade smoke to me.

Heres my last Church about 6 weeks into flower, started from a clone that I topped as soon as it rooted and then flowered.

So the Violator Kush is definitely staying in the grow. These two went straight from rooting into flowering together in a window planter

Im now letting them veg a little bit before flowering to get a little more size, they dont stretch much at all so i can afford more height in veg stage. Heres a top at 4 weeks



Hashplant x Haze
Same thing here Im getting this strain dialed in after a couple runs and its starting to pay off. I now let the clones root, top them and then straight into flowering. These stretch quite a bit after going into flowering. This plant was 11 inches tall when it went into flower and is now at about 3 feet, many tops though This is at 3 weeks flowering

Sharksbreath was harvest and went into cure yesterday. Smoked a sample joint w/ my buddy and we were both surprised by the quality of the buzz. I only had the 1 seedling that endured a week long power outage and being in a flood. The yield wasnt very high due to how rough the plant had its life
But, the quality was very good. My friend and I bth loved the taste, smell and buzz. Very distinct smell, and the taste is also distinct; kind of a root beer taste to it. Im thinking of adding the strain to the grow.


First Rocklock is at 6 weeks and starting to bulk up nicely, seems like a decent yielder only time will tell about the quality/


So, Im gonna be trying out a few different strains to add in. I want to add 1 more strain in addition to the Hashplant Haze and Violator Kush. You guys can help my pick out 2 from the list im interested in, let me know your votes and they'll be added to the grow I'll run 2 and keep the better of the 2 strains

Great job man! Are you vegging and flowering in the same closet? If so, how are you making a lightproof cabinet? I saw you bought a cabinet at walmart, did you just make that lightproof? I haven't figured out a good way to veg and flower in the same room short of spending a fortune on a lightproof tent.

Thanks, no i veg and root clones in the plastic cabinet from Walmart.....they sell a spay paint just for plastic, i did a few coats of black and then many of white over the black......black keep light from escaping too much and the white reflects inside.

I harvested the first few Lockstock and just tried some after 3 weeks of curing, tastes pretty good and decent buzz....not gonna make the grade though. I want a little higher quality.

So im getting ready to order seeds again, going with DNA Genetics Sharksbreath ( Loved the one I grew, shoulda taken clones) Sensi Seeds Super Skunk and Bubblegummer from Female seeds....the quest for 4 great strains for my grow continues....Got 2 I love so far Hashplant Haze and Violator Kush...I'll run those 3 and pick the best 2 to keep.

Im closing out this journal, new journal on the way.

Im due my delivery from Attitude tomorrow, coming in is: Sharksbreath, Female Seeds Pure AK, and all the freebies from Dinafem.
Remaining in the grow will also be Violator Kush, Hasplant Haze.

Moved into a new place and have my areas both set up and running, also will be adding a new inline 6 inch fan and carbon filter.......see ya soon
