virgin grower having major probs

im new to growing so ill try my best to discribe where i am with these plants i got these clones from my mate a week last thursday when i got the plants they was in perlite and soil in small pots i transfered them to 5 gallon pots into soil,i put them straight onto flower 12/12 as the plants was 5 weeks old when i got them im using a hps 250 watt light in my closet my ph is round about 5.9 most of the time i have been watering them daily as that is what i was told to do by the person who gave me the plants the temp is between 75-77 degrees i have a desktop fan hooked up in my closet and i have given them terra flores for nutes twice since ive had them which is 11 days now,most of the leaves on the plant shown in my pics are brown round the edges and also at the tips and have a papery feel and curled upwards,also some of the leaves are pointing upwards,i have read alot of stuff on here as far as i can tell its a combination of things....but what things if anyone can give me a diagnosis and a solution it would be much appreciated or should i just give up and start again

Definately over watered and it also looks like you are pushing the nutrients too strong. You should start with 1/2 the recommended strength and work up until you find the right strength. When I used to grow in soil indoors I only watered once a week. You have to wait for the soil to dry out. I learned to lift the pots and when they were light I watered/fed them. All is not lost, time may be on your side as they are not too far gone.

thanks for your reply guys how much water should i use to flush??

flushing is just pouring a lot of water into the pot to rinse stuff out. you should rinse until water come clean.

you don't need to flush until last week of flowering.


your main problems are WAY too low on PH - you should aim for 6.7, not 5.9 and overwatering.
water when the top inch of the soil in crisp dry or when you lift the pot and its light.

even with severly root bound plants in 45C in advanced flowering stages I didn't had to water once a day. there is no reason for you to do so.

now i am confused one person tells me to flush and another one tells me not to flush does my plants in my pics look overwatered or over fed nutes or both,if they are overwatered is it just a case of not watering for a few days and see what happens or is there something else i can do to reocover the plants and if they are over fed nutes do i need to flush????

just give them clean water for 2-3 waterings, and only when it is needed. thats the fix for both.

the soil there in is canna terra professional i bought it from my local hydro shop also i have pebbles in the bottom and top of the soil

the pebbles made me wonder, but your fine

so this is what im gona do leave the watering for a few days and see what happens as a matter of interest when watering how much do you use im obviously using too much how much do you use when you are watering bearing in mind my 2 plants are about 3 ft tall and 6 and half weeks old

wait 2 days to start with.
when your plants will need water they will raise the leaves like they are praying for water. soon after that the leaves become droopy and after around 12 hours they begin to look really really sick and soon after die.
catch them between the leaf rising and the leaf drooping - thats when you water.
give them 0.5l of solution every 30 minutes or so until theres a runoff - thats your emount for now.
I advice using a plate to catch excess water. with that you can water more - water until the plate doesn't empty up in 30 minutes.


its not much about the height of the plants or their age, its more about the pot size, the root mass and how healthy your plants are.
