Visiting Amsterdam

Of course.

*IF* your stuff gets through, you're fine.

*IF* your bag happens to one of the ones searched, and *if* you're convicted of simple possession of cannabis in Hong Kong, the penalty is up to seven years in prison. If they get you for "trafficking" that's potentially LIFE in prison.

Your ass, your choice.

Now the fact is, yes, this sort of scrutiny can be *highly* variable and in practice, I'd imagine that most contraband does make it through.

With checked bags, airport security (which is not the same as customs) is mostly concerned about explosives. They don't give a rat's ass if you have an air rifle in your checked bag that's utterly inaccessible to you or anyone else during the flight. You don't even get access to your checked bag back until you're in the non-secured part of the terminal, where literally anyone could walk in the front door with a machine gun anyway. Airguns, also, are perfectly legal to possess in most of the world.

I've actually gone through international flights with LIVE AMMO in my checked bag. I wouldn't try that deliberately in the post 9-11 era, but I'm sure it happens not infrequently.

Customs is more interested in finding smugglers with huge sums of money, significant amounts of hard drugs, dangerous weapons, etc. A few cannabis seeds really are small potatoes to them.

So again, in practice, you'll *probably* get away with smuggling a few seeds in from Holland or where-ever, especially considering how easy it is to hide something that small. Unless you give them a reason to, customs isn't going to spend an hour cutting open every seam in every garment, breaking open every battery, ripping out the soles of your shoes, etc. But if they had a good reason to do so, they could do it.

Again, the biggest giveaway is probably your body language telling them that you're nervous or hiding something.
just wanted to say that you're dead on about the body language thing.. i have this nervous tic that i don't even realize i'm doing it, but i've been told plenty of times about it..
i was flying out of the airport, didn't have anything to hide at the time, or so i thought, and the security chic must have noticed my tic and thought i was nervous not about flying, but trying to hide something, and they pulled me right out of line and searched my shit hard..

when i went to amsterdam, i simply flew in and out of germany, which i highly recommend as it's only a few hour train ride from germany, and you're not going to be getting looked at nearly as hard as you would if you were to fly in and out of amsterdam itself imo.. :)
Do they stamp your passport entering Holland from Germany?

If so, then customs could potentially see that stamp when you returned to the USA.

Here's a good one.

I was flying out of somewhere. . .I think it was Israel, but I can't remember. I was waiting in the security line, and security was asking this middle aged woman if she was carrying anything dangerous.

-Nope.
-Are you sure?
-Yep.
-So you don't have any weapons?
-No.
-Perhaps you're carrying a gift for someone?
-No.

Then security reached into her bag, and pulled out an entire box set of steel German knives (which they had obviously seen on X-ray when they had scanned her bag).

The women turned beet red and looked like she was going to have a heart attack! She had obviously forgotten about the box, and probably thought they were going to toss her in jail right there. They didn't. . .they just took the knives away and told her to be a little more thoughtful next time.

I just grabbed some cheapo nirvana seeds from amsterdam, ive taken them out of the breeder packs and put them in tissues, got over to london gatwick with no issue. The xray machine is hardly going to see a few seeds in a pocket in a busy backpack. I don't know about dogs' ability to sniff out a few seeds, i'd think the smell of my clothes after being in coffee shops would set them off more.
I'm gonna put them in my checked in luggage when flying back to Australia, I don't expect any issues, although Australian customs is particularly bad I think due to quarantine laws.

Ive been to malaysia, london, berlin and amsterdam this month, london's stanstead airport was the roughest in terms of security, they had this swab/sensor device they ran over all my belongings, I'm guessing it was for detecting chemical agents used in bombs and maybe drugs too. The death penalty for drugs in kuala lumpur is a bit scary but i think checked in luggage at a stopover doesnt count?

not anymore, once you enter the eu, they don't stamp your passport anymore.. my first trip to the eu i was going to spain, but flew into germany first... got my passport stamped in germany, but not spain, and i was kind of pissed cuz i wanted the spain stamp too, lol..
but yah, so long as you stay in the eu, they only stamp your passport at your point of arrival now..

Im desperate and will be going to the dam in 3 mnths ...ive actually thought about putting seeds or a few grams of good dank in a balloon and stikin it in my ass.i know it sounds bad but what the fuck else can a person do in this tyrannical country that we live in?

Are you there yet? Hahaha. You'll love it there. Stop by any tourist/touring shop and you can pick up a pamphlet strictly for cannabis tourism that has all the shops listed on them.

Besides Bulldog and Greenhouse check out Bluebird. Just watch out for that insanely tight spiral staircase at Bluebird. I've seen quite a few people slip on them.
I agree on trying to bring a gf along.
About the PayPal thing, it shouldn't deter you. Just order from one of the big banks and get guaranteed shipping.
The Bulldog blows. I felt like I was in a fraternity for 1 hour, also their weed selection is terrible.

MUST sees are de dampkring, Club media ( if you can find it) the noon, amnesia, katsu, and hunters. These places are mostly locals but I feel like the vibe is cool and they usually have a great menu. Sensi seeds has a coffeeshop that only sells seeds but no nug. You can smoke in there but that might be a stop you might want to consider. The cannabis college can point you in the right direction if you are looking for a certain strain

Interesting read on the state of shops in Amsterdam: http://www.counterpunch.org/2012/02/03/coffee-shop-confusion-in-the-netherlands/
Seems like if you want to go, you better do it this year.

Has anyone ever gone to an mj friendly location, any place not just Amsterdam, Vancouver perhaps, sampled meds in a coffee shop, and purchased seeds (or clones) of the strain that medically worked best for them?

I, like most growers, gets seeds online, but most strains are crap, or at best a crap shoot. I have one bomb strain, its my daily smoker, Woody Kush, a sativa/india mix, but want more variety. So far I've found nothing i'll even put next to it in my grow room. It seems silly for legal growers to all have to work within there own grow rooms developing what works for them, there should really be a better system in states for trading strains. I get it though, the best ones aren't handed out, that's why id only trade my strain too, if i ever found a way to get a clone 'worth getting' locally, ha. A trip to EU or Canada, or even up the west coast sounds much more fun though :-P

..but it's only going to be worth the trip if you find the best smoke imo,.. anyone ever taken a trip for a better strain?

I've ordered seeds from the Attitude 4-5 times. I've ordered from Nirvanna and Dr. Greenthumb once each.

I have always paid with my CC or my Debit card. I've used my real name and my real address.

I have gotten what I ordered and more from the shops every time.

I think the longest I have had to wait for an order to arrive was 16 days from the attitude. I live in Michigan.

why is it worth the wait again?..
because you get bomb strains? no.. its only worth the wait if you don't have a better source. I've got seeds from nirvana too, they sucked ass. the 1st generation of there master kush grew pollen sacks, 2nd gen didn't, but still, waste of money, and more importantly time. i want proven medical strains in my grow room, not seeds.

Its going back probably about 10 years now, but the first time I was in Amsterdam, I was at some bar (might have been a coffeeshop. . .I wasn't smoking and bluntly can't remember), and I saw a VENDING MACHINE with cannabis seeds!

You literally could plunk in 40 Euros (or whatever) and it would spit out a pack of seeds! I don't remember what strains they had, but there were at least a few different ones in there, and they were at different prices.

Now, realistically, I don't think this is the best way to buy seeds, since who knows how long they were in that machine or what quality they are. But seeing that machine was pretty surreal. You figure somebody (probably clueless tourists) have to be buying the seeds, or there wouldn't be a machine!

That was probably GreenHouse. They have a vending maching in the back in front of the bud bar. I got a lighter from that machine for a friend.
