Ok, so I ask you specifically. If you hit the lottery tomorrow and walked away with 150mil bucks after taxes. Would you work? Would you take on the worries and pressures of running a large company? Or would you be like me and head for the hills and enjoy my "retirement"?
I would buy and/or build a business because it is my nature...

Starting a business beats crack addiction as a method to lose all, or even more than all, your money. You can only smoke so much crack, the amount you can lose in a failed business is unlimited.

Obama will come to your town and tell you he's going to save your job. Then after you vote for him, you'll get fired, lose your health care, and then lose your house. Just ask my neighbor

Until the massive administrative state begins to enforce punitive regulations ordering cremation, and outlaw burial.
i wish we didn'y bury people and just left them out to rot in the wild, or fed them to animals or something. its a great way to make sure their matter and energy is recycled. i will put in my will that i wish to either be buried at sea or in the african Savannah

What is funny about this is that people are accusing employers of being partisan when they are simply stating the truth.

Obama pushed for the HARM notifications. In fact he pushed for more strict regulations on employers regarding the informing of employees about possible layoffs. It is only when his personal life and 2nd term are in jeopardy that he is willing to throw union members (and I am willing to bet 99% of them are the middle class) to the wolves by telling employers that the federal government was only kidding about notifying hard working Americans that they might not be working hard for much longer.

And the same people that champion the 99% and fairness for employees are saying that it is no big deal if the government wants to tell private businesses to break the law and they will be compensated with taxpayer money.

Not hard to see who the true partisans are on this board.

Gee...

"Robert E. Murray read a prayer to a group of company staff members on the day after the election, lamenting the direction of the country and asking: “Lord, please forgive me and anyone with me in Murray Energy Corp. for the decisions that we are now forced to make to preserve the very existence of any of the enterprises that you have helped us build.”"

"On Wednesday, Murray also laid off 54 people at American Coal, one of his subsidiary companies, and 102 at Utah American Energy, blaming a “war on coal” by the administration of President Barack Obama.”"

"Dear Lord:

The American people have made their choice. They have decided that America must change its course, away from the principals of our Founders. And, away from the idea of individual freedom and individual responsibility. Away from capitalism, economic responsibility, and personal acceptance.

We are a Country in favor of redistribution, national weakness and reduced standard of living and lower and lower levels of personal freedom.

My regret, Lord, is that our young people, including those in my own family, never will know what America was like or might have been. They will pay the price in their reduced standard of living and, most especially, reduced freedom.

The takers outvoted the producers. In response to this, I have turned to my Bible and in II Peter, Chapter 1, verses 4-9 it says, “To faith we are to add goodness; to goodness, knowledge; to knowledge, self control; to self control, perseverance; to perseverance, godliness; to godliness, kindness; to brotherly kindness, love.”

Lord, please forgive me and anyone with me in Murray Energy Corp. for the decisions that we are now forced to make to preserve the very existence of any of the enterprises that you have helped us build. We ask for your guidance in this drastic time with the drastic decisions that will be made to have any hope of our survival as an American business enterprise.

Amen."

"The Center for Responsive Politics ranks Murray Energy among the top coal-mining-related donors; it has doled out almost $1 million to GOP candidates this election cycle. And this year the Federal Election Commission shows $10,000 from the company's political action committee in donations directly to the Romney campaign.

Earlier this month, Murray Energy executives blamed Obama when they closed another mine in Ohio (E&E Daily, Aug. 2). While competition from natural gas and other coal-producing regions is hurting Appalachian mines, Murray leaders said the president's policies alone have forced them to lay off workers.

"It's a human issue to me, this election," Murray told WTRF-TV in an interview. "I know the names of every one of our employees, some of their wives. Their lives have been destroyed by the policies of Barack Obama, the radical followers.""
