Voter turnout is down in almost every state so far

ruh roh bad news for the R's:
state by state, beginning with Tuesday night: Minnesota had just more than 47,000 people turn out for its caucuses this year -- four years ago it was nearly 63,000 ... In Colorado, more than 70,000 people turned out for its caucus in 2008 -- but in 2012 it was 65,000. And Missouri ... had 232,000 people turn out, less than half the number who did four years ago.

...

In Iowa, a little more than 121,000 people voted, compared with nearly 119,000 four years before

...

In New Hampshire ... 245,000 voters turned out in 2012, compared with 241,000 four years before

...

South Carolina has been the great outlier in this election cycle ... turnout was up almost 150,000 over four years before

...

In Florida ... 1.6 million people turned out in the nation's fourth largest state ... compared it with the nearly 2 million who turned out in 2008.
So Iowa and NH essentially are the same as before - and SC's turnout is up(which wont matter, Obama wouldn't win SC anyway) - but in every other state so far, turnout is down. That's especially important in Florida, for all those electoral college votes.

and then considering it looks like Virginia could go to Obama, things are looking extra bad for Republicans.

why does that hurt republicans? im sure in wisconsin voting will be down now that new voter id restrictions will be in place. i expect that to hurt the democrats. the republicans planned for it to be that way.

That is because most of the right wingers I know are EXTREMELY disappointed with what the GOP is offering as candidates! Most are sitting out the primary and will bite their tongue come Nov and vote for anyone other then Obama!

I can't stomach voting for Romney, Sanitarium or the Newt! Not sure if I should stay home, right in RP or go 3rd party and vote for Rosanne ;-)

who can afford the gas to get to the poll when you haven't worked for 2 years?
everything is done through the mail here. i walk my ballot down to the library for that extra special "just voted" feeling on election day.

It shows how unenthusiastic republicans are about their choices. Republicans can make all the election rigging they want, it won't matter if they can't get republicans to go vote.

it might still matter.

a state as big as florida was decided by a mere 600 votes a few years back.
