Vegging for more than 60 days is not worth it in my opinion. You're saying you've been in veg for 4 months and you could have vegged for two and been mostly done with flowering by now, ready to start a new crop. You will probably need another net as once you flip to flower the plant will most likely double in height in the first 3 weeks depending on the genetics. Scrog nets real purpose is to hold it he plant low and even for a flat canopy but if you don't raise it up or add another net it's just going to be a kind of support for the buds above it. Hope it works out for you and there's a good thread on scrogging here if you search and plenty of people with lots of experience with them.

Really appreciate the help, thank you!

Yes, you are going to have a mess when they start to flower. There will be too much growth for the plant to support. Expect to do lots of pruning but not too much in the first three weeks or you could stress the plant and cause it to hermie. I've done it, unfortunately, and learned the hard way. Definitely not worth it, 75-90 days in veg max.

I had these plants growing since the end of November. I feel like I should already be in flowering phase, but not sure if it's too early. I think I am cutting a lot of undergrowth because I set up my netting really late in the veg phase.
Get them on 12-12 ASAP bamboo stakes an twine work great later in flower. Looks like you were trying to fill the tent with the long veg? plan better for 2 nets next run. Easy to set up with some pvc.

That netting is pretty useless. Maybe it'll keep some weight up but the elastic nettings is pretty useless from my experience.

Get a firm net and bend them down before entering flower, that's not gonna do much of anything.

Yeah I was trying to. I also heard that the plants should be around 30 inches tall before flipping so I kept them in veg. Next grow I'm gonna go with a firm net and set it up way earlier than I did this one. I'll have to look into how to do a pvc setup. I've seen a lot of photos of people having that. Thank you for the advice!

Lol yeah they are all growing on top of each other. Will have to plan better next grow. Thank you for the advice!

I had a lot of problems with a firm netting my first grow so I thought the elastic one would be better. Good to know that the elastic doesn't really do the job. Luckily I still have a few and will set it up before flipping them tomorrow. Thank you for the advice!

This is the thread you need to spend some time reading. Nothing but scrog info.

You do know the plants will triple in height the first few weeks of flower, right? Measure from the soil at the base of the stem in the pot.

Indica plants don't go that crazy in stretch. My Northern Lights#2 barely stretched 50% of their original 28 inches, finished growing at 42". Sativa's and sativa dominant hybrids can get 3x stretch but I'm not sure what strain he's growing and from who. You can always supercrop anything that looks like it's taking off for the light up into at least the second week of flower.

The purpose of the netting is to support the plants for me personally, I do use it to space out branches and even the canopy but not like true SCROG. I have learned it is best to grow the plants into the netting and I do that by setting 2 layers of netting above the plants when they move to flower, slowly weaving branches through squares keeping everything as even and tidy as possible. There is no law that you need to prune up to the net either.

I have a VEG room and a BLOOM room with different configurations, in my VEG room I simply top the plants repeatedly as they grow until the bloom room is cleared, I sometimes veg longer than 60 days without problems.. Call it a waste of time, I call it larger plants with bigger returns.

It really all comes down to preference and what you're actually trying to accomplish with the netting.

Thia might be off topic, but I’ve watered these plants about 2 days ago and when I go to lift the pots to see how dry they are, they are a bit heavy still. Should I water them anyway cause you can see they a dropping quite a bit?

What soil are you growing in and what type of nutrients? I never let fabric bags go very long without some watering as the outside of the soil dries faster due to increased evaporation from the sides of the pot.

I'm using a mix of Pro mix, Peat moss, and Vermiculite for my soil and using Jacks 321 for nutrients. I usually wait till I can lift the pot without a problem.

Are you feeding Jacks at full strength? The little yellow dots make me a little nervous there's a pest issue but it could also be the beginning of light stress too. If you added a good bit of peat it could be getting too dry and having a hard time absorbing the water. Peat isn't good to let dry all the way out as it will let water flow through it and not get absorbed.

Here’s an example of different stretch. First pic is at flip to 12/12, second is a month later. The one on the right leans more sativa so tripled in height. The other spread out more horizontally and was easier to train. I haven’t grown either strain before and also waited too long :wall:

Yes, I am feeding them full strength with every watering (Jacks Bloom 10-30-20 3.5g - Epsom 1.2g - Cal-Nitrate 15-0-0 1.2g) I just ordered some pest spray online. Should be getting that in tomorrow and will spray them down when the lights are off. I saw someone use that mix and wanted to give it a try lol. I'm gonna go back to FoxFarm Ocean Breeze next grow. I just don't wanna be over watering my current plants. I think I'll give them another day and water them tomorrow regardless how heavy the pots feel.
