Wannabe grower from India

Hello everybody

I have been reading the forums here for a while, and I finally tried my first grow a few months ago. I tried two different varieties of local Indian Satvia - while my attempt did not result in too much smokable bud, I wouldn't say it was a total failure. I still learned a lot - watching things happen in front of you as opposed to just reading them here, It has definitely made me more confident about my next attempt.

Just to let you know, both my female plants ended up producing seeds. (Turned hermies I think?)

I think the the first one got too stressed when I had to re-plant it in the middle of the summer (Too hot)
I never removed the first one just to see what happenes with it, and I think it effected my second plant too. (posting some pictures of this plant here, before I could see any balls)

Now I am thinking I'll try my second attempt at growing using the seeds I got from my second plant. I was wondering if someone could tell me, are the seeds from a plant that turned hermie likely to be any good or am I just wasting my time?

I have also ordered some seeds from the internet, but will be starting with those towards the end of winter. its going to her pretty cold here over the next two months.

but I bet summer temps is to hot, and I also wonder about your Latitude, how is your day/night length ? might want to look in to Autos or fast growing Indica`s

if its hot try grow it in a location where it get morning/evening sun instead of mid day sun, prepare the ground/soil and provide the nutrients (NPK and trace elements) it need, water in the morning and remove any grow near by that can "steal" nutrients/space/sun and carry Bugs aso.

From what I understand, if your plant hermied fairly easily then your seeds might hermie fairly easily as well.
Just because a plant does produce some male pods does not mean it will definitely produce seeds that produce herm plants. In a case where it was unusual for the plant to do so, its seed are likely to produce the same. Like say, you find 10 seeds over a 1/4lb, those seeds are likely to not be hermie prone. From a plant that threw tons of pods with medium stress, it is likely to be hermie prone.

I could be wrong about this... I don't know how that trait carries from seed to seed. BUT, I do know that I have grown some excellent bag seeds plants that came from large quantities with few seeds. All were female and very very similar flowers were produced. So I would guess it self polinated.

Hey guys

I am based in new delhi....where Latitude : 28.38 N and Longitude : 77.12 E.

Over the next few months its going to be pretty cold, with minimum temps going close to 2-3degrees centigrate. The days will get shorter too, with about 10-11 hours of day light, with overcast conditions too.
Pretty bad conditions for an outdoor grow i think, however I am still gonna try growing the satvia seeds I obtained from my plant that pollinated. For nothing else but self-education purpose.

Also, I think my first plant hermied because of stress, it was very very hot here when I replanted it, it almost died before coming to life again, and when it did, it produced seeds.
Also I think it was my first plant that pollinated my second plant, the second one was doing great until the first one produced balls.

Also, if my feeliing is correct about the first one pollinating the second one, then we might just have a mixed-breed on our hands with the new seeds I have, since they were both different vareities to begin with. I hope I am making some sense.

I am also seriously thinking about starting an indoor grow with the seeds I ordered from the internet...they are both indicas so should be okay to grow them indoors since they take up less space...
Can someone please tell me what is that reflective material that people use for insides of their grow tents?
Also I am considering CFL Lights since they are very easily available over here. How many watts of CFL should I have for two indica plants?

Cheers guys...appreciate any help I can get.

mate, you are a lucky man. I have never smoked hash from kashmir even though I have been there twice. All I am able to find here is hash from Himachal Pradesh, which is very very good too imho.. would still love to try some kashmiri hashish!

I am also going to needs some help with preparing my soil, what I can find locally is a wormmeal type soil nutrient, bonemeal, and cow dung based nutrients, and perhaps some other organic nutrient if I looked really hard. If I mix 1 part nutrients, 1 part sand, 4 parts soil - is that a good mix? havent yet read about trace elements etc....
