Want the best for my ladies

I have 2 light sets; 1 1,000 watt MH and 1 1,000 watt HPS. I really don't care much for yeild, quality is more important to me. I've heard of people using both at the same time (runs too Hot for my room), MH for veg and Hps for flower, and one type of bulb all the way through. My question to you pros out there, how should I set the lighting for the best outcome? Your advice is greatly appreciated

What I do is use a T5 to get them started and about 4-6 inchs tall then then veg under MH. Keep the light a little high till the baby's get use to the intense light and heat. Then drop the light as low as you can without frying them. With a 1000 that's about 18-24 inchs. Veg with 18/6 till 1/3 of the finishing hight you want. Then (this is what I do) switch to 12/12 leaving the MH. After a week change to the HPS and start week 1 of flower. That's what I did with 1 light. Worked well for me.

Thanks for the tips. I've heard using Hps for flowering results in airy wirerey buds, and using the MH for flowering will give me dence resin covered buds.

So I'm going to assume using MH for veg then switching to HPS for flowering will give fluffy resin covered buds. Any input fellas?

Everywhere I've read/heard it supported HPS for flowering and MH for vegging because thats the spectrum of light the plants absorb the most of in those periods. Blue for veg, red/yellow/sun for flower ya know.

Right now I have it about 4 ft away because of the intense heat, they are responding very well, short bushy and very strong
Having your light 4 feet away will result in 'airy wirerey buds'(unless you got some bomb genetics), you need your light closer bud. Get a fan pointed directly underneath & Give them the light they so much desire
