want to buy some lighting but money tight any suggestions. have a cheap light from wal mart now plant aquarium light its keeping babies alive but not much growth after a week of cloning

A couple of 42W CFL bulbs will set you back around $20 at Home Depot. Try to get the correct color temp, around 6500K. That should see you through veg but you'll need to add more light for bloom.

I usually have at least 3 CFLs on the plant, that way you can have one on top and two for the sides.

I did this using 3 23w 6500k CFLs and made it through veg with very good results.

yeah, they fit regular sockets.

For flowering you will need 2400K CFLs. You might need more lights depending on what strain you are growing. If it's sativa and very lanky then you'll need more lights. You could also try LST to combat this.

You can get them at Home Depot or Lowes but sometimes those stores don't have them in 6500K. You can also get them online at 1000bulbs.com. They have a very good variety there.

i used a eco bulb bloom and didnt think was very good im using 400w hps now and fining its scorching the leaves an awful lot

Back it away some then. How close do you have it from the plant tops? Do you have a fan blowing across the tops of the plants? 20 inches from the tops is just fine. I wouldnt go to CFL's over HPS. Much tighter and bigger buds with HPS.
