Unfortunately in this twitter age there's no twitter length answer on that question. I've just put the last 18 months into figuring that out and I still have a long way to go. Welcome to RIU. Start reading and growing and enjoy,

If you want a bush its very simple, clip off the top node of the plant, which is first inch or so of the plant when its 3 weeks old after seed. Then transplant, and veg for a few weeks and you will have 2-4 main colas and a nice bush. When they are about 10-12 inch tall they should be showing sex, then flower the females as soon as they show the first sign of sex. Make sure you give them lots of light and lots of air and a living organic environment. goodluck

I would start with selecting a plant strain. Genetics are going to play a large role in the plant structure. You may want to consider Northern Light.
Then you can do some plant training to help shape your grow. FIM, topping, super cropping all will work. I would recommend you review the 4-way LST thread; a nice way to train your plant!

12 bushy plants is going to need a pretty big grow footprint !
