make sure the paper towel is in a warm place like near on top of ur fridge or pc
just make sure u keep em warm it will better ur germ rates
and i had no idea purple haze was going extinct now i gotta buy some seeds from attitude and then sell it for a huger profit! naw im playin but i'll make sure i stock up on it

Can you guys explain to me why you use the paper towel method ? I just stick them in the soil and let them go. I think that you are causing undo stress to the plants by trying to handle them all the time. I think it's just the fascination of seeing them sprout is why people do it. I know another reason might be so you don't waste time planting if it doesn't sprout, but how hard is it to poke another hole in the soil and drop a seed in if the first didn't sprout ?

Not necessarily, your seeds might already be screwed after all the nonsense you put them threw. However I would say that a far greater percentage of people use the paper towel method compared to those who just germinate directly in soil. the main reason why I heard it's hard to germinate in soil is because the soil dries quickly which is bad and after that sometimes people overwater it which just makes it worse.
Paper towel works fine for everyone else so it looks like a problem you're causing.

They are still germinated whether you put them in soil or a paper towel.
Germination is the process whereby growth emerges from a period of dormancy. The most common example of germination is the sprouting of a seedling
I don't see that, except for the overwatering part. Look around the world, whenever someone plants something, flowers, vegatables, gardens, they just stick the seed right in the ground, the paper towel phenomenom I've only seen in the stoner community.
Have you seen it used anywhere else ?
also you stand a greater chance of the root sticking to the paper towel and causing problems.

I would say, when in rome. The majority of the people do this and are very successful, so I know if I were you and I was in the position to be asking questions I would do as the romans, and germinate with the paper towels.
because there is a high chance there is some benefit to this, because if not I dont see why so many people would do it. Maybe we just do it because were all followers. But thats just my opinon.
Im not saying your wrong La9, I dont doubt you at all. Because as Ive been told before seeds would be pretty useless if you had to germinate them with paper towels and such.
I mean how often to you hear of a sativa plant saying, "hey tree, yea come here lemme get some paper towel."
But all in all I would germinate with the paper towels and once you have a few successful plants or your a couple grows experianced you could definatly go with the other way and compare.
Or you could do both right now and have both ways to compare.
Again those are just my opinons

in one of my indoor grow books Ed RosenthaIs says that the pIacing the seeds directIy in the soi is the best mehtod , handIing pre mature pod is puting the seedIing exposed to germs and diseases once in your fingers, and pIacing the seedIing in wrong position can increase your maIe percentage or herme.
