So I purchased a 2 x 4 lighthouse tent off of Ebay for 99$, same ones you can find here http://www.lighthousehydro.com/ (not to be confused with hydrofarms lighthouse line)

The tent was holding a hydrofarm 8 bulb 4' T5 light fixture which according to their website weighs 28 lbs. A totally acceptable weight. http://www.hydrofarm.com/pb_detail.php?itemid=10653
The bracket that connected the roof bars broke. :fire:Sending my light right into my canape. Luckily I was home at the time and heard the noise of it crashing into my babies. I am now fearful that other people may have the same issue and god forbid they have a HID fall down and start a fire. These tents are poorly built and if you are using one please reinforce your roof brackets with duct tape or something.

LOL bro, i'm glad you saved your babes and what not, but, I don't think any indoor tent with plastic brackets was actually designed to have a big fluro lamp mounted to the roof. LOL, be safe man... LOL

You could rather have built a support structure for the lamp INSIDE of your TeePee

No matter what the manufacture tells you, I just don't see things working out fine with nearly 3o pounds extra on the tent, and it's plastics start breaking down

Yeah I am really pissed, if this would have happened while I was at work or sleeping someone could have been killed or my whole house could have burnt to the ground.... it's a real wake up call dont skimp and just buy cheapest thing because it could cost you a LOT more in the long run. Also this tent was less than a year old I bought it back in may.

Wow you are lucky that table flooded. I had some of those cheapo yo-yo hangers that came with my HID light and hood. I replaced them with some ratchet hangers as they were obviously a hazard.

Fuck those yo yo's....I had to tape my plastic corners just to assemble my 4 x 4 tent. Glad you are OK.

That's really sketchy but good thing it didn't break the insides of those bulbs gets everywhere and would probably ruin some plants

I have an issue with my lighthouse tent as well that I got off ebay (2x4x5). The POS has light leaks galore, weak ceiling, floor leaks, and is getting worse day by day . I contacted the seller to see what we can do about this but not expecting any miracles. I also have a grolab tent which is much better quality. I would love to hear what others have to say because now im thinking of ditching it completely due to the OP.

One thing that will always ring true....you get what you pay for. I've got a Secret Jardin DR120....and I've had a 1000W light, 6" fan and large carbon filter all hanging from the roof supports and it never showed any sign of weakness. I'd suggest getting a better tent from a reputable store.

I just had this same problem with my Lighthouse tent but I managed to catch it before anything really serious happened. I had 2 of these corner pieces on my 6.5x6.5x6.5 that were cracked the whole way down the middle and 1 that had completely broken. I am looking to find replacement corner pieces so that I don't have to replace the whole tent.

Just email whoever you bought it from.

I have 3 4x4 and 1 4x8.

One of the 4x4 the zipper broke. Everything else is fine. I hang a cool tube and 8 CFl rack across.

And this is why I won't buy ANY tent that has plastic corners. Period.

And also, this is why you build your own room or make some slight mods to a existing room so you know that your structure is well built and won't collapse

Glad you were able to save your babies and advert a disaster. I just want to say that not all ebay tents have those crappy plastic pieces. My ebay, made in china tent has all metal corners. If I can find the brand name ill link it to make sure that people buy the good one.

Edit: I have this one http://tinyurl.com/lg47ngd in the 48x48x78 size. Its very sturdy, and I have a fairly heavy XtraSun air cooled lamp.

I just got a Lighthouse tent. All of the corner pieces are metal and snap into place. Maybe the one you had was an early model. Mine seems pretty stable. I have a large enclosed reflector and a heavy carbon filter and there isn't even any flex in the poles. I wonder if they had an initial tent model and then made improvements on newer models. I'm quite happy with it actually. No light leaks, pretty thick canvas and seems very stable like I said earlier. Mine is 5'x5'x7'.

Same here, glad you caught it. Do you guys think that the light, in particular UV damages and weakens plastic? I do, and that is one thing I like about my LED light, no UV output that can damage and cause brittlization of the plastic pieces.

Damn I think i made up a new word!
