Washing machine upstairs decided to water my plants downstairs

Tittle says it all, Had the washing machine over flow and about 100 gallons of soapy bleach water not to mention the gypsum coming through the ceiling, gypsum is very toxic to plants and humans. went through the floor and ceiling, causing several days worth of damage cleanup. did have 3 plants that got water pouring straight on too their leaves and over watering their pots. it was a 7 foot space dawg and 2 custom blueberry hazes. the space dawg i had to really work with since its a full sativa it turned yellow almost within a few days from getting in correctly watered with toxic crap. The blue berrys turned red/pink immediately over night. No herms or anything but the buds did get stunted a bit. Its amazing what these plants can survive. Hopefully with 3 weeks of flushing from all the bad water it should still be good to smoke.

Really? Had a contractor tell me gypsum is toxic, lol

It can be bad for you yes.

Well you learn something new everyday! lol Well i guess the soapy bleach water didnt help then.

Its perfectly safe for human consumption and was used once upon a time to treat many things

Many people do indeed add bleach (an oxidizer) or soap (soil penetrant)
To their res or water
Some do with every single watering..given I imagine, a smaller concentration....

Right ive used blech and soap for various things but when the soil is drenched there is nothing i can do. and who knows what else was in the water.

These are a good investment. Have one by my w/d, basement drains etc

IM actualy in the process of moving it in the garage lol but that would be a good investment fairly cheap.

Whoever invented these are genius, saves homeowners thousands on water damage

Im just thankful i was home when i heard the machine crap out, it was raining in my basement lol only have to replace one sheet of drywall and re-paint some areas. If i would have left my entire investment would have been ruined it was raining on the electronics. so i flipped the breaker to the house and pulled the girls outside. cleaned everything up and did an electrical check on the outlets and plugs and what not making sure if was all safe to turn back on. Nothing got ruined im very thankful.
