WASPS!@#

Hey ya'll. I have a Hoop house (30'X15') along with my outdoor 6 plant legal rec grow in N CA.

MY GAWD the wasps right now! I was looking around the treads. How can i keep these lil A$$ holes from coming back in my Organic soil. So far it's been cold..so the time to do it is now. I am overly tempted the get some raid/Wasp instant kill and cap those in the "spine" pipe of the hoop house. BUT what about the possibility of; if any, egg contaminated soil? Oh and how do I get them from coming back?

Any solutions organically?

So far sticky trap/ killing by hand with duct tape (Fricken frightening), and neem spraying the cooking off soil. Thanks!

Noted. Got a serious answer in that shithead?

You could get rid of them if they are a major problem but they are helping you by hunting the pests that feed on your plants. All part of the circle of life and outdoor growing.

Thank you for the advise. I will look in to what benefits this can give me/ what kind of pests are in the area. It is a heavy ag area with rice and grains. Lots of chicken, seasonal water foul, A LOT of mosquitos moths and flies..and spiders. I would assume some mouse activity, but i have spotted many roaming cats around

Does anyone had experience these guys will try to attack buds/stems/leaves down the line or are they not interested in the plant material/oils.

Wasps are a beneficial insect. They play a roll in pollination. Leave them be...

After doing some google searches, i found some good info on their ability to control insect populations by eating larve of moths/flies and other "bad" insects but, they seem to pretty indiscriminate in that they will also eat beneficial insects such as ladybugs" with control aphids

Lol... spiders and bees and all kinds of creepy bugs are just part of growing outdoors. I grow amongst tons of wild flowers so I am very used to wasps and bees. I leave them alone and they leave me alone lol
And yes lol...I am super beyond stoked for this grow season! It's going to be epic

steal the honey from the wasps. they will get hungry and die off without their honey

I am supper exited and glad to be full legal Recreational growing and not some iffy prop 215 BS, yeah i this is not the first time outdoor. With that said the terrain this season is different. Seasons before were about 1000FT+ elevation, dry mediterranean, semi coastal, live oak and blue oak sparse woods, oh Annnnnnnddd no green house: (no clear cutting allowed) If that gives you an idea what i am used to..This Valley farming is a bit different.

I will check out that wasp honey lol, to go on my troll toast, braw.

The reason for wasp removal is more for personal safety. today I decided that there was enough to cause for concern, IF i wanted to pull off the green house plastic...I used some thing call "M.ggie's Farm" from the local OSH, (NOT dropping a product advert so if the mods have beef, you can change my post..) anyway, its has essential oils from plants i have seen on this site used for flying insect control. I don't know how the extraction is done but the reside on the plastic were spot vermin spraying; DID NOT evaporate at rapid pace. Weather about 80deg F here today, AND humid in the house..i think once the mud drys up these guys will take a hyatus to some wetter places. I am set on using ALL organic ways of controlling unwanted results..and exhale..

Be hard growing proper organic in a heavy AG area. So much over spray and contaminated soil, ground water etc.

Dawn dish washing liquid and water with a spray bottle.helps to cut down on raid and other compressed poisons,and cheaper to make.
