Water after transplanting or not?

I just transplanted my plants today and the soil they were in is not completly dry.....and neither is the soil that they went into. They are close to needing water as in when I emptied the new soil into a big container to mix in some dolomite it was darker color and damp down about 3 inches.

I just always thought that after transplanting you watered them in.....or perhaps the new richer soil will burn?? is this correct thinking or am I high?

Thanks

You ALWAYS water after transplanting. It loosens the root ball so it can grab onto the new soil. Otherwise the plant way wilt really bad and either shock horribly or possibly die.

I water the outer edges, the theory is that the roots will stretch to the water. After the next day or two I water the entire plant.

when you transplant into a container that container should be as wet as possible for the roots to grab onto something where as when its dry they just sit there and wonder what the fuck is going on? always water
