water bottle light bulbs

Pretty miraculous stuff, really making a difference to hundreds of people in shanty towns (theretheres a wicked vid about it on youtube), but my question is, could this be adapted for grow purposes? Either as a way to magnify lighting, or with a bunch in the roof of a shed (pre maybe in a chamber between two sheets of plastic in the roof (like a light box).
