Water Cure Dried Buds?

Been getting some medicine lately that is quite fowl, pretty sure its the source of my head aches too. I'm a long way off from supplying myself and dont often have choice when it comes to supply. So i was hoping this oz would be different but alas its the same.

It seems to me this has definately been fed right up to picking and it sure shows! Not that I'd know but what else..

Which led me to think what about water curing..

I put 5 g submerged in water to try it out.

They recommend 6 days in a dark spot changing the water daily. And then dehydrator till almost dry on low heat. But thats fresh buds.
Mine are already dryed.. I'm not sure whether I need to use the full 6 days but i think i will anyway. What I am really trying to do is simply flush out all this fert and taste, which water curing is well known to remove most flavours..

So has anyone else ever done this?

I will be sure to let you know on the results, end weight etc...
And in the mean time I think i might try another d tomorrow as I really dont think its healthy what ever it is.

The container was abit full of water when i was putting on the lid, so instead of tip a few micro red hairs down the drain i drank some out, tasted slightly grassy a bit off

My biggest concern is maybe water curing, pre dried buds WILL wash away any or some THC which has already been activated in the original drying process, but we will see. Maybe its been force dried quickly and theres some inner goodness waiting to be unleashed by this glorious curing technique.
I can dream can't I
Some neutral tasting smoke would be nice for now

I have been having this same EXACT thought for a few weeks now. I had been planning on trying it but hadn't gotten around to it. I was curious to see if water curing some dry buds would still remove the contaminants so that it could be used to make hash or to bake with.

i did about a half O on my harvest, and compared to my regular well cured well dried bud it sucked. still got me high, just no fun to smoke in a J. i bet if i rolled a spliff with some tobacco in it, i cojuld walk down the street and no one would be the wiser. now i put some in a blunt the other day and it was awesome! dont worry about losing potency, thc is not water soluble, thats why it works. buds smoke smooth and have a very neutral taste. its worth a shot, especially if what you have is shitty, you lose about 15% weight also, so by weight the thc increases.

It worked for the most part, there was still some taste and smell but very little after curing for 6 days. It might just take a bit longer for dried bud to fully loose all taste.
The water was quite yellowy the first two flushes,
It definately helped/Can't hurt if ur tryng to remove contaminants Pelt

I've wanted to try this. I've seen many people water cure already dried bud for the same reason- it wasn't dried/cured properly when they got it. When people do it right (^above this post), I haven't seen any complaints... So good for you for going out on a limb. :]

I'm interested in doing this for herb or trimmings I wish to bake with, or maybe the next time I make hash.

I'm hoping that for baking, it would make the smell less harsh and for making hash, I would have less of the 'plant' matter in my mixture.

water-cured bud makes the best brownies, essentially no weed taste

I never got the weed taste in my brownies with the regular air cured stuff. The thing I am hoping is that when I'm BOILING my buds/trim in the pot to seperate the THC from the green...... that it cuts down on that smell. Usually when I boil my air-cured stuff, it totally wreaks up my whole house for the evening.

Do you think water cured bud will help in that regard?

I can't usually notice the smell much when I'm smoking, so I can't really comment on my bud, if its odour was more or less.. I was going to try but it was over a week ago now... Judging by Insomnias comment above tho i reckon it would, your turn to experiment :)

I'm still building up my scuff stockpile for my next time for baking. but I totally plan on trying it out.

It works wonderful if you have moldy bud that's what you would do water cure it and then it takes all the flavor and sent out of it yes so it's not as flavorful it's not as enjoyable to smoke but it's great for making edibles and making oil and tincture because then it doesn't have a flavor and you can flavor it anyway you want. you water cure it you change the water every single day and as soon as the scent and the green and the color is gone then it's good when the water empties clear then it's good I'm actually about to do something right now got a whole box of moldy bud and I'm going to water care it and that purifies it it takes out everything and it's the best cleanest pot you could have.
