you mean like a waterfall pump? If thats what your talking about it will oxygenate your water but not as good as an air stone connected to a air pump. Ive seen air pumps at fish stores for as little as $7. I'd say spend the cash and do it right.

air stones keep a high dissolved o2 in the h2o and help keep the rez mixed and the nutes well suspended.

Just wondering if my water pump that splashes the top of the water will oxygenate my water well enough for my plants?



yeah its a waterfall pump, think it would be good until i get a air pump? it curculates the water well IMO, should i take the plants out on occasions to get some good oxygen to the roots??

Yeah I got a cheap air stone was like 3 dollars and a 9 dollar air pump was doing 30 gallon res no problem. Even some of the systems they sell say it recirculates and when it pours in its supposed to add o2. What a load of crap, more oxygen the better in my opinion. Oh yeah if you do make sure your air pump isn't in a location where theres a ton of co2. I keep it out of my flowering room.

get a cheap airpump and a couple airstones, answered...

Yeah your water fall will do until you get the good stuff. You could probably use it to flowering if you want to. It's all about how good you want your weed and harvest to be.
Technically you dont need either if your planning on cutting corners and just pulling your plants out every now and then... you could just change your water 8 times a day and be done with it..lol
