Water ? when taking cuts R/O or tap

So I grow in promix and a mix of roots organic. Sometimes just straight promix. I always clone directly into promix and have a 99% success rate. When I take my cuts I just dip em rooting solution and stick em in a solo cup filled with promix, and water with tap that is not ph'd. Once everything is rooted and begin feeding I then begin to ph and monitor ppms. My question is this, now I have a r/o water filter and taking cuts today, I was wondering if I should stick to my old method of watering the new cuts with tap and putting them in humidity dome or if I should water them with ph'd r/o water. If I use the r/o water should I feed them some calmag like I do with vegging and flowering plants? Thanks-Ds

If your getting 99% why change anything :). If it ain't broke, don't break it :).

You shouldn't need to ph your water at all in soil. Pro mix is peat based and ph balanced as is. A lotta peeps don't realize that the main reason they need to use nutrients in their soil is because the stuff added to city tap water(chlorine, chloramine, fluoride, etc) kills off the microbes that feeds their plants but that's a subject for another thread entirely. If there are not yet roots on your clones the ph doesn't matter anyway because bare stems are not taking up anything but air & moisture so tap would be fine. You can even use tap all the time if you use nutrients. Cal mag is a needed macro if you run RO but don't bother until your clones are rooted out.

Pro mix is not considered soil...at least that's what I thought . About not ph'n water for soil, or promix yes I heard this to but I'm not using a super soil recipe and I have had better results when I do ph water. I've used tap for years with good results but once I started becoming a better grower I began to ph my water and saw better results. Also my tap's ppm's are in the mid to high 200's so if I just feed nutes to my tap and not ph or check ppms I would fry the fuck out of my plants or get lockout, which I have done. I get what you're saying but I don't think my plants would thrive in promix with just ro water and cal mag.

Last two runs of clones I used a pair of kitchen scissors to cut the stems, a rusty razor to trim them, and Res water (1.2 EC) to soak the root riots. Best success I've had lol.

Ya I used to think about to much. I would use a exacto razor and clean in between cuts... Now I use my trimming snips, I just took 20 cuts and didn't change the gel in the shot once nor did I clean my snips. Its funny how some people (myself included try to do things exact and perfect when starting out growing. I used to overthink things for sure.

thats usually when i get adverse results. over thinking it.

im sure many of us would agree that are best batches were before alot of our new methods of overdoing everything.

one of my best batches ever was just straight dehumidifer water for all of flower. no nutes at all. no additives whatsoever.

Wow that's impressive, must have been solid genetics. Your air must have had a good npk ratio, haha

i was talking flavor and overll quality obviously not yield. but I was surprised that they werent much smaller.
Still impressive none the less. Shows most plants don't need crazy amounts of nutes. Little goes along way. When I went over the top with nutes and bloom boosters I noticed it caused my plants to get unnaturally dense, got bud rot not to mention fucked with flavor even when flushed properly.
