Didn't know this thread existed you've got my attention first off I'm gonna have to sit down & review this from the beginning as I've recently started a waterfarm grow I'm sure there is lots of good stuff buried in here

Here's a tip for my fellow waterfarmers, If you have problems with splash from the dripring or mold growing on the hydroton it's a simple fix... Take a styrofoam plate, cut a hole in the center, then cut a slit from the side, and slip it around the stem of the plant... It's almost too simple...
I learned this just recently I've really got to study this thread a-z

Ended up with a little time to devote to my room today so now the e&f stuff is out & the waterfarm is under my galaxy switchable ballast (250-400) with a blue enhanced 250w. Hps bulb for now it's been under a 4-bulb t-5 until today for now I'm using gh3-part flora nutes which I may or may not change out but I have a few optionsimage.jpegimage.jpeg

Hey guy, welcome to waterfarm. One thing I noticed about your system, is that you really don't need that plate. Algae is normal, and nothing to worry about. As far as splash is concerned, just push the ring down as far as possible, which should take care of that. Lastly, your plant looks like it needs a dose of N. Also don't forget to monitor your PH, which you should do every other day. Simply twist down your water level tube and drain into a milk jug, and drain to fill the gallon jug (waterfarm's hold 2 gal) and test your PH. If your reading a high number (most likely) adjust to 5.4 /5.6 and dump it back in, to acquire the desired 5.8. Same if too low, adjust to 6.0/6.2 and dump it back, allowing for drift.
I would change the solution completely every 2 weeks to maintain a good, fresh balance of nutes and PH. Simple enough to do using the water level tube. Good luck.

Hey jimdamick thanks for the input I went back & skipped back through this thread the plate keeps the nutes from sputtering on my leaves as soon as she's a bit taller I'm gonna pull it ph checked @ 6.3 last night I'm draining & changing today the nutes are a bit weak as she's been under t-5 s until last night I switched to the farm from e&f which as of late I've been doing in coco using smart pots if I'm remembering right I think you have a system using 6 sites ? I have a friend that just ordered a 8 site gh waterfarm so info learned here is gonna be well used I'm using tap water which fortunately has a ppm that always averages 40-70 my oakton ph meter finally went south & I replaced it with a blue lab my tds meter is junk ( one that comes with a water pure pitcher) so I don't rely on it for nutrients saving up for a blue lab truncheon I think it's called so for now I'm gonna wing it I have an abundance of nutes so as things get up to speed instead of topping off I'll just drain & put in fresh nutes my roots are all the way down in the bottom of the bucket in spite of mild growth on the plant itself everything is in place next grow I'm gonna do some mods but for now m running it box- stock here is today's pics @ 24 hrs. Of hid lighting really looking forward to rubbing elbows with everyone here & maybe learning a thing or two in the process it's looking like the leaves are straitening out as she progresses I was concerned first but I think it's genetics the new growth will tellimage.jpegimage.jpeg

image.jpeg Pruned some of the deformed growth in hopes she will put effort into the new growth development I don't like removing leaves this early I also fed fresh nutes last night so now I'm gonna wait this out & see if I don't get some growth I'm happier with in case I'm flogging a dead horse I have access to cc blackwater clones I'm really wanting to straighten this out though the new growth looks a little light in color and should darken up a bit in a few days this plant does not like to be topped I might addTTACH=full]3665203[/ATTACH] image.jpeg

forgot about this old thread I'm still using the waterfarms 2 of them under a 6 cob led I did finally straighten that plant out I was overfeeding here is my setup todayView attachment 3982982
Fantastic!!! I still have 2 waterfarms in my attic. I never got the hang of these, due to the Clay pebbles not being boiled, and could not keep PH stable, and had issues with the heat and water. I am breaking out beans now, but think i will go with what i know, back to the dirt :) Good luck on your grow, and keep up the great work!!!! Sounds bad to say i was around when these things first came out lol....But glad to see so many are having good grows with them ;)

Looks fantastic! I love watching these waterfarm plants. I really wanna see you grow these plants into monsters. Good luck mate.
I have the one tent with the 2 waterfarms I've recently moved into & ive got to pick up some hose to hook up my remote reservoir as it won't fit inside my 3x3 tent the second tent is gonna be under a 200w. led & a single homemade dwc. with an air pump driven dripper glad to see renewed interest in this thread I'll be back with some pics later on

Tonight I'll be firing up the second tent I've addressed the issue of the drip column the new one I made continues to pump with as little as 1 gal. in the bottom of the reservoir I'll be using the California light works solar system 275 which actually draws 200w. the stand I made out of a milk crate is set up for 1/2" pvc framed Scrog that attached to the crate via adjustable risers tha Scrog is 29x29 I'll use the center 24" just like with my 400 I'll be running the smaller plant its super sour'd from these guys (follow the link) www.kingklonebrand.com it's sour'diesel-x-og kush it wasn't in the greatest shape when I got it but it's coming around IMG_2208.JPGIMG_2209.JPG IMG_2210.JPGIMG_2212.JPG
