Is it better to water a baby plant on a daily basis, keeping the dirt pretty much moist all the time? OR Is it better to water real good and let it dry out and the soak it again?

keeping it consistently moist instead of soaking it is going to create better roots, they are not going to feel suffocated.

In greenhouse production of every crop I've worked with from pansy to mums, it is always recommended to let soil dry out between waterings, and then to fully saturate.
But be careful not to let plant dry out too much to cause moisture stress.
Buy a moisture gauge.

if i water enough for a couple days then let dry a bit, i re water just to moist. the next day the plants always blow up. thats with a very fluffy soil.
