watering seedling in 5 gal pot

I have 3 week old seedling In 6 packs, when I transplant to 5 gal do I water just around the plant, with about half gal or water the whole pot till water comes out the bottom

No need to go crazy on water with just a seedling.i would just pour half cup of water at base of seedling.then again it shouldnt be a seedling at 3 weeks .you should have fan leafs by now at 3 weeks

In a 5 gallon pot, I would just water around the plant. You do not want to see runoff unless you have really porous soil, until the plant is large enough to deal with it. I would use about 1/2 gallon per watering depending on medium, and then water again as the soil dries out, every 3 days is what I average, but I have large plants usually. You won't need that amount for now.

I call them that till I put them in big pot,were outside in sun, 6 inch tall stocky and healthy, going under MH

For plants that size I would probably just water until it starts coming out of the bottom and then let it dry all the way out before you do it again, of course.
