Watering with automated system

Hello all,

First time grower here. I currently have a indoor closet tent with one ten gallon fabric pot with 1 plant. It has been scroged. Its nearly done with veg stage. Looking very bushy. However I am going on vacation for 10 days. I purchased a automated water system. The problem is when I water every 3rd day in the morning. I give her 1 gallon of water. This seems to be just right. However with the new watering system it has two settings. One for how many seconds the water will flow and the other for how many days in between. I have tested the flow with 99 seconds of flow which is the most I can put. This only uses about 1/4 of a gallon of water. So my question is. If I set it for 99 seconds for every half day which will keep it around 1 gallon per 2 full days is this to much watering since it will be getting water every day twice a day? I hope I didn’t ramble and confuse you all. Any help would be awesome!

Thank you

Are you in soil or coco? Im gonna assume soil.

I think i would go with 99 seconds every day...once a day for the 10 days your gone.

give them a little drink each day to keep them going until you get back. Watering twice a day in soil could create overwatering issues.

If your in coco, you can def get away with more frequent watering.

I’m using fox farm ocean forest soil. I’m also planning to switch to 12/12 as soon as I get back. From reading it’s good to not feed nutrients for a few rounds till after the switch. Since I am gone for 10 days and only plan on using ph balanced water and running the water for 99 seconds every day. Think that she will stay healthy enough till I get back? Yea I have read it’s better to underwater than over. I really appreciate all of your help. If you or anyone has any tips to help make sure I won’t come home to a dead plant please share.

Thanks again

Are you watering from a reservoir? Gravity feed? I am currently using a NearPow multifunction cycle timer (check Amazon) with a 24 VAC plug in power adaptor and a motorized 1/2” stainless ball valve from US Solid. The timer from NearPow can be programmed in the cycle mode to be on for any number of seconds, minutes and hours and off for and number of seconds, minutes or hours. It works great but I’m thinking of switching to Bluemat. You can google that option.
