I agree not the best idea but far from the worstThe only bad thing about putting cured weed in a freeze is that it makes the trichomes very very britle. They eventually fall of especialy if over handling the weed. I personally never recommend anyone stick weed in the freezer...unless your goal is to reduce potency...but I heard not to many people like that Keep it in the jar man, its much better that way

Not the freezer, the fridge. I want to keep some out in the garage where I like to smoke at night, but the garage is kind of warm in the summer. But, I have a perfectly working full-sized refrigerator out there for extra food storage. So, if I put some in a canna-jar and put it it the fridge, will it be unaffected, as if it was at room temp? He's got it in a jar, and he's not freezing it.
