Week 4 flower problems

Week 4 almost 5 of flower
CSI Humboldt mendo purps x uk cheese
5 gallon fabric
Coast of Maine soil
HLG 300 r spec at about 30-40%
Watering tap water PH’d between 6-7, half gallon per pot every other day

I top dressed with nature pride lands bloom about two weeks ago, then it seems these issues started. I used this amendment last grow with no issues.. Not sure if they’re hungry.. or got too much food in the top dressing (only put 1 tbsp in when they recommended 2-3).. or if I’m not watering enough/ too much? I’ve changed nothing since my last successful flower run, so I’m at a loss.

Also, I’m only experiencing issues with 3/4 plants. I have one plant that is perfectly fine?..

First off looks great. Good job. They are showing nutrient deficiency. But not to the detriment of your buds. Yet. Feed them more, the recommend amount. And defoliate the big yellow, brown spot fan leaves for mold prevention etc.
Maybe the only difference is new strains.

Thank you. Yea maybe the difference is the strains, I had the same thing happen last time I ran CSI gear but I was in 3 gallon fab pots so I increased to the 5 gallon last run, which was successful.(Last run wasn’t CSI gear) I thought I’d have close to enough nutes in the soil to run me through flower but I guess not. I’ll try to top dress again and see what happens.

Probably wont see a difference. Just dont want to see other sugar leaves looking like fan leaves. Id day you are on the lower end of sufficient fertilizing. Not really underfeeding. Should be a smooth smoke.

Do you check soil moisture before watering every other day? I don’t think they’re necessarily underfed as you have nute burn on leaf tips. That one funky leaf almost makes me think overwatering. This would lead to nutrient uptake issues obviously. I prefer plastic pots myself over fabric. The reason being, the one run I used fabric I seemed to have issues popping up left and right. It was probably my lack of adjustment from plastic to fabric. Also used Coast of Maine that same run and went back to mix of FFOF and Happy Frog with extra perlite. What’s your runoff ph sitting at?

Usually I’ll just stick my finger in and if the top inch is dry I’ll water til they barely get runoff. I’ve considered going to plastic but I have had success in fabric and I like the drainage they provide. I had success with coast of Maine my last run, but it was with different genetics.

I don’t check runoff because I don’t have a meter, I use GH little test tube with the green liquid and the PH color sheet, so I at least know the water going in is between 6-7.

I check ph the same exact way as you do. Just collect the runoff and test it is what I do. I noticed the coast of Maine def seemed to retain more moisture than I am used to. My money would be on overwatering.

Doesnt the soil stain the water to the point where you can’t see the color of the ph test?
The only reason I’m swaying away from overwatering being the issue is because I watered them the same amount and just as frequent for 4 weeks prior to the issues starting.. so idk

Soil hasn’t stained the water to any extent where it affects the color of the ph test. No different than when nutes are added to distilled water and then ph is tested before watering. I’m not saying for sure it’s overwatering by any means but I’m just speaking from experience when I used the fabric pots and how the plants looked (just like pics you posted.) I kept chasing deficiencies and it took me seeing a fungus gnat to realize that I was overwatering, it’s easy to do. Checking with your finger from the top of the soil is not a great indicator when to water from my experience either. I literally lift each pot up before watering anymore to check the weight as water can be sitting lower in the soil. I hope you figure it out though, I’ll be rooting for ya. You’re doing awesome regardless

I'm a newbie myself but honestly to me it looks like UNDER watering. I used to do every other day myself but my girl got real thirsty once she started flowering. About a half gallon per day now for one plant...half of that top fed and half of that bottom fed....assuming you have your RH about 45% to 50% that soil is going to dry up a lot faster now.

Update : Hopefully this helps people out in the future… they seem to have started up taking nutrients again. The rust spots are still there but minimal new ones have popped up, and the leaves have gotten that green nitrogen look back to them.

I top dressed with natures pride lands bloom, and let them dry back an extra day or two as I was watering every other day.

I also ran non PH water through them (somewhere around 8.5-9) because I was worried my soil PH was too low after using PH down the whole grow.
