CFL's are fine for vegetative or the seedling stage, but in reality, they don't provide enough light or the right spectrum for flowering. You need an HPS for that.

i got a 600w HPS ... only cant use it as my growbox is smaller then hoped... but when my tent is up i'll be rocking it untill the wheels fall off... but this grow will be CFL from start to finish... and all i hear is ...cfl no good time and time again... i guess its voices of experience and folkes being helpfull... but it is a thump in the guts each time ....

yeahh ive been trying to keep the temps down this whole grow and have been having more trouble than id like. but im on 12/12 now because the relaters are coming and i need to wrap up the grow before i have to move
i have 6x 60 watt eqv cfls and 4x 65 watt eqv cfls. just started my new job today though so more money will go towards an hps (cant wait!) lighting is no more than 6 inches from canopy on the top and as close to the plants as i can get on the sides.

just picked out the new stuff im buying this week.
- 48x48x78" grow tent - 114$
- 400watt HPS light + ballast - 119$
- carbon filter + inline duct fan + 8ft of ducting - 128$
what do you guys think? will this do the trick? for a tight budget that's a lot of money :/

alright guys, well if i'm going to upgrade the grow room i wanted the plants to be growing free so i can work with the new space. and if i waited any longer i wouldn't be able to take off the SCROG... so i just decided id scrog more on my next grow and just let these ones finish on their own. this is all still under cfls, here's some pics(the scrog definitely helped for veg too though).

Your strains sound excellent. Kush is definitely one of my favorite strains to buy. I just grew 2 Dutch Passion White Widows that I vegged for just 3 weeks and then flipped the switch to 12/12. I had to because White Widow is a Sativa dom and grows between 65cm-85cm. I believe that Kush grows to around the same size. You made a good decision going with the 4x4x6.7 tent because you are going to need the space. Google what nutrients your plants will need and figure that into your costs as well. Flowering is the time that will really stress a plant for the right nutrients. Post what you are feeding as well. Feel free to shoot me a PM.

hey guy i notice you useinf actual wire mesh for your scrog you might be better off useing string just thinking when it comes to cutting down its goin to be a nightmare for you i saw on this site a guy made top with 2x4's useing eye hooks he made his own scrog set up whats cool about this is when your about to harvest you just cut the string and you can get at everything better anyways looking good

already took the scrog down because im getting a tent and have to move the plants! but good thinking, i was worried about all of that anyways, will definitely use string from now on though. thanks for the advice though

Word. I got a 600 watt switchable digital ballast setup from them with a 95,000 lumen bulb and fixture for about two hundred bucks. Ballast barely hums and the heat jumped ten degrees is all. I have twelve very nice colas on one MK plant that is LSTed to the hilt for light management. I did use a true 125 watt CFL to veg and my plants loved it. Delivery in about three days.

It's a journey my friend. I doubt any grow you have after this one will be exactly the same because you learn new shit all the time. Tweak shit a little each time. Fuck dude, the buds are cool, but I really enjoy the grow as much, and quiet as it's kept, maybe a little more. These are my kids man! I want to see them Ivy League. Fuck public college. You know?only hope i'm as impressed with my equipment / grow

so i had to tear down the whole grow and hide the plants / lights and everything. i snapped some pics while they were out, sweet tooth kush grew hairs over the last few days so i have at least 1 little lady for sure! my cell camera is too poor quality for pics of hairs but here are general pics.
