You had airy bud because you chopped 3 or 4 weeks early mate. The flower in those pics is only at about 5-6 weeks developed. This is why you lost the terps too.

Also why does the strong weed smell go away if I harvest my plants later than that?
The harvest before the ones I posted, I harvested them at 8-9 weeks and the stickiness and smell was damn near non existent.
Any help is appreciated.

The strong weed smell disappears because the plants is starting to die off and trying to survive instead of finishing growing flowers. You need to keep the environment and root zone better all the way through flower.
If you keep adding more nutrient than is needed all the way through the grow it will gradually fry all the roots, cause all sorts off lockouts and progressively get worse til you end up with a dead plant. You've gotten a lot of good tips on how to sort all your problems. Good luck!

This has never happened to me, yet, and I hope never, but, it seems like whatever happened to your flower that week you where gone also fried the trichomes (which carry most if not all the terpenes) If they are not smelling nothing like it use too (that unique aroma) your flowers are most likely toast. Check out the trichomes under a magnifying loop to investigate. I don't know what bad trichomes look like so I can't tell you what to look for but if they don't look like healthy ones..not good.
and get pot risers to lift them off the ground. runoff is not runoff if your pots are still sitting in the water.

Weed smells derive from sulfur and amino acids. If your nute lineup is made for cannabis, you should follow their instructions. The act of reducing nutes and measuring EC is a waste if you don't quantify what those nutes are. If they are products made for the end of bloom; potassium sulfur magnesium aminos, boron etc, you shouldn't reduce them. If it's a bunch of calphos and ammonium nitrate you should.
That's why people are confused about flushing, they act like EC is a single universal fertilizer molecule. Your EC means nothing until you know what's in it.

Meh.. Cannabis grow very well under many different nutrient ratios. NPK of 3-1-4 is scientifically the optimal for growth with Ca:Mg ratio of 4:1, those are the main markers to take into considerations.
But it all depends on what you want to achieve at the end of the day and some choices are down to preference. People use EC because it's a universal measure and the plant can only take a total amount of salts before lockout occur.
Saying EC means nothing is a little ridiculous since we all use a complete plant food in different mineral ratios with great results? You can look at ppm numbers for every single mineral all day but at the end of the day the most important measure is total EC for measuring the strength of a nutrient solution.

If those pics are 8-9 weeks then you could have strain that needs 12+ weeks of flower. There's a few other factors that can slow flower times like insufficient light or nutrient or lack of airflow around the plant.
You always lose some smell after you chop compared to when it was growing because the plant is actively producing terpenes when it's alive and this production stops when you cut it down. If you do the 60/60 dry and a minimum 2 week cure you will get the smell back.

Another way of saying less is more, but yet we add more still. That "boost formula that throws the ratio way off... so now we're looking at a 3-55-4 ratio (for example)... gee wonder why I have a lockout..
