I'm not panicking because I don't think there's time for any huge problems. I was just putting my 6 widows to sleep and noticed banana like growth on a few buds of one plant. I started week 8 today and the other 5 show normal buds.
Is this just a last ditch effort for my plant to pro-create or is this something I should worry about. Is there enough time for any seeds to grow?
I plan on harvesting in about a week to ten days.
Thanks for any advice or info.

I know most times stress or genetics play a role in hermie but these are all the same strain plants grown under exact conditions. My grow has been spot on with temps and light, no stress that I know of.

Most likely stress related. Nothing to worry about. Look your plant up and down and remove, with tweezers, all of the banana dicks. I would also keep the plant separate from all other plants while harvest/cure, just to make sure the smoke is the same and you don't confuse the hermie buds with the dank buds in case they are less potent.

Thanks MydogCody but I doubt it's stress. Makes no sense and I've learned that logic trumps a lot of opinion on matters of science. After reading about nanners it makes sense that this is nothing more than a last ditch effort to reproduce. It's week 8 in a plant that finishes it's reproduction dance in 8-9 weeks. She's in panic mode. The fact that all 6 plants have been grown under the exact conditions and that all seeds were bought from the same breeder of the same strain tells this novice that it wasn't stress but nature's attempt to pro create.

So here's the question. Pick the nanners and let it be for another week or harvest at the early end of recommended harvest span? My trichomes are 50% clear 50% cloudy. I need another week I think.

Thanks

The plant knows it's close to finish.
It knows it hasn't been pollinated.
In a last ditch effort to make seeds, she hermaphrodited. or tried to.
If it's not a stress issue, than IMO- the plant was unstable to begin with.
white widow should be very stable.

Your 8 weeks in, you should be harvesting right now, I wouldn't worry about the bananas

Good Luck on Your Grow.

Thanks topfuel, I would assume this could be something of genetics and present in a small percentage of feminised seeds?

If the trichomes are not amber and still mainly clear should I wait a bit? It's day 52 today. They seem to get more "sugar" every morning. Maybe harvest this one girl and let the other 5 sit a few more days?

Thanks in advance...

I like to harvest when my Trichromes get clear. I always get some change in the Trichromes when the buds are Cured for a month or two.
It all depends on your personal taste. some people like more amber that tired stoned more for bed time buzz or to help with pain, and to help you go to sleep at night.
The Clear Trichromes see to me to be more Energized Buzz, like a day time Buzz if your feeling depressed or un-motivated. It seem to be up-lifting to me.
The best advice I can give is to take a small sample of bud dry it out for a few days, and see what you have. If you like the buzz, Harvest her.
