WEEK vacation, tops wilted, recovery??

Plants still verry green but when i returned home the tops were all draped over to the side, some bottom leaves have withered but are not crispy to touch, most leaves at top are still very green. I moved the lights ((2) 150w hps) approx 3' above plants while i was gone, generously watered b4 i left and immediately upon arrival today.

What is the best method to bring my babies back, i realize pictures would give more definite responses but that is not an option right now, stems still stout, leaves very green. plants are roughly 7-9 weeks of age, 15" or so tall, give or take
 
my mistake, soil....plants have been requiring 400-600mL h20 every 2-4 days, the temperatures were in the mid 80's while i was gone and soil was saturated the day i left so roughly 6 days no water, but have never seen them look anything like this....granted ive never left them b4
 
any timetable or special measures i should take? or just continue my regimen as if the plants appeared healthy, obviously they need water but im well aware over doing it is as likely to damage them as anything....a few days and maybe back to normal, first timer here if its not already painfully obvious
 
Well, like you said, best is to simply continue as if your plants were healthy, just take special care to make sure that if they show any other problemes, such as over watering, or lack of speaking to, you can provide for them.

You may maybe lose 1 or 2 of your plants, but I doubt that it'll be anything dramatic, at worst.
 
yeah just continue what you are doing, they will bounce back, ive left mine for a week at a time also and with normal routine care they come back
 
Thanks for the timely replies guys, +rep's all around, just out of curiosity, i had one that is def a sativa (all plants from bagseed) and it did not seem to take half the punishment of my stumpy indica's, also one other was about 3 weeks behind the rest and she shot up, doubled in size this week, no ill effects whatsoever, is this a trait of sativa's? maybe the parent plants were robust outdoor plants?

also, when i said the leaves appeared withered, to be descriptive it looks as if the leaves are hanging from the stem, straight down from where the node connects to the main stem, id say lifeless but the leaves are still supple and moist...and verrry green

Just thought id follow up and say that the users of RIU were right on the money again, plants were improving all through yesterday afternoon, when i woke up this morning the worst of the bunch was back to being the pick of the litter, thanks for helping put a newb's mind at ease
 
i'm planning a week+ vacation, i did an expirement with a male plant i had. i put it in a 6x6 room and lit it up 12/12 with a 26watt cfl. it was 9 days before the soil was dry and the plant still looked pristine, no growth to speak of, but i wasn't expecting any. so i'm thinking that my 4x4 flowering room that is lit with a 1000hps will be lit with the 26 watter while on vacation. a week of nasty, mucky, cloudy weather.

this is one way of getting rid of male plants. it was gone quick.

Has anyone here setup an auto watering system?
 
i looked into auto waterers, the thing that turned me away from that was what if you had a problem and you were just adding more to the problem by watering. with a 26 watter they're in a suspended animation state of being.

Anyways, really nice plant. Pity we don't live closer, or I'd demand a taste of that! :weed:
 
ive always been a fan of good old fashioned horse tradin', the fan is a staple in my starter kit tent rt now too, 1 of 3


QUESTION:

1 of my babies is definitely sativa and maybe even a 2nd as well, but both of them seemed to have been A++ ok while i was gone on my trip, im just wondering if sativa's as a general rule require less water/size than an indica of the same size??


still curious because it was never directly answered and i cant find the right words to search for or whatever the case may be....thanks RIU
 
Well, from my understanding of marijuana phisiology and what not, sativa is more of a temperate plant, that maybe doesn't require quite as much light to flourish than other strains. From what I can recollect, it's normally found in mountainous areas where plants need to take a certain amount of water, but must be able to survive with certain periods of drought.

Indica, on the other hand, is more of a tropical plant, as in it's broad leaves are made to absorb as much sunlight as possible, and it'll require more water than it's counter-part to flourish.

Then again, I might be mixing them up, or something, so hey, I'm not all that much better off than you are.
 
Fair enough, im still disappointed in myself that i haven't run across a direct answer previously answered anywhere, maybe i should ask it but i feel like im just looking in the wrong places....ps it all makes sense except i thought the sativa's were the tropical plants (ie: haze variety's that are grown nearly year round in the islands of the Atlantic)

anyone?? sativa's need more or less water than indicas (as a general rule)?????
