week4 heat streess what can i do?

had some heat issues and it got realy hot and the plants wer a bit too close to the light and got stuned some fo the plants have droopy leaves some recovered just fine. on the ones that have not recovered yet is there anything i can do? i have turned the light off on the ones that did not recover. is there anything i can do or should i just leave it and hope they recover?

lights have been raised and the temp is under control again. anything else i can do?

From what you have explained I would say some of the weaker plants have died and there will be no recovery. It will slowly dry out. It's time to plants some new seeds or clones in this new space you have available.

You have done what most people do and it is one of the worste thing's that you could have done raising the lights will result in leggy plants.This will mean that the plants will produce far less get the lights about 8 ince of the tops with the fan blowing on the light hood and bulb this will cool the light lowering the temp.If possible get hold of another fan and have this secondry fan blowing from the other side at the light too.

i didnt raise it crazy much they are at 12 in from the tops some are a bit closer. i put 2 more ciruculation fans in there to move more air and will point them directly at the light just like you said. thanks for the tip. i will post pics in a few, they are sleeping. they have some new growth and did swell a bit since it happened and some of the new growth on the top shows erect leaves instead of droopie. so im thinking they are recovering from the shock. some of the super all problem plants super croped and the buds seems to be responding just fine. ill post pics just incase something else seems fucked. thanks

He pretty much explained it. You can also put a frozen cup of water in there to help lower the temp.

so a frozen bucket of water could drop the temp in a 3m by 3m room by how much? and how fast will it evaporate?

Depends on how hot it is in there, My space is probably 80/85 degrees. It's usually melted when I wake up. But it dropped my temps about 4 or 5 degrees. Also a fan blowing on the lights reduces the temp good.

Run some vents in at the to[p of the grow room has heat rises it will go through the vents and out into the room.I would also add a fan that will serve only one function and that will be to blow on the hood of the light and bulb.Have the fan on full and this will cool the hood and intern the room.

i've done all of these and they all help a bit... add them all together, and it can lower the temperature by 10 degrees i'd say...

(A) fan blowing on the light/hood.. Medium to high speed is better, just make sure it's facing up towards the light and not blowing your plants too much, especially if they are younger and have fragile stems...

(B) Exhaust fan at the top of the room, sucking the hot air out of the room...

(C) Intake fan blowing cooler air from outside the closet/room into it.. Make sure there's a filter on it so you don't suck any bugs or what not into the room...

(D) Bowl of ice cubes sitting in the room behind the fan that is blowing onto the light/hood.. This works really well, you just have to change the bowl 2 times a day..

(E) Big bowl of water in the room... this actually just helps w/ humidity...

All these will not only help your temperature, but give your plants fresh air as well and even help the humidity some... All this has pretty much been covered allready, but that's what I did to lower my temperatures...

c02 will buffer temp. plant will grow at explosive rate at 90deg can still grow at95 but it wont do much now and its difficult to run high temp due to root zone cant get hot good luck

thanks a lot for you guys help, the seem to be getting fatter and fatter so for now my temps are 26c on the canopy and 28c to 29c up top.

i pointed the fans directly at the hoods and im going to put in some ice as soon as the babies are on.
