Weird plant problems

Okay so I’m running a 1000w mh in a 4x4 grow space. Temps have been a constant 85 degrees Fahrenheit 40 percent humidity. I haven’t used any nutes yet just started in miracle grow dirt then moved to a professional potting mix. Now I’m having problems, some are yellow, curly, shiny, it’s just weird.EF9023EE-F4A6-4BBF-AB97-A0C09205EAD5.jpeg 66990F32-41AF-476C-AE0C-4ECCD8ED280B.jpeg 15704874-4C10-46E2-B2F4-D96BC3B15F52.jpeg 933D8204-DF15-4E17-BE43-AE9452D72A4F.jpeg

Light is about 18 inches away running at 50% so roughly 500w I just moved the light up about 3 feet so will see what happens. I’m just worried about nutes, if I need to or not. I have been reading about N toxicity, maybe that is a possibility, I’m still not sure.

You said you havn't used any nutes so there should be no N toxicity. Miracle Grow does have some slow release nutrients in it that get released every time you water but it shouldn't be enough. I do think 1000w MH at 18" is your problem. That is wayyy to close for that little one.

Can beat stress cause the yellowing of the leaves? I’ve never had this problem, then again I’ve never had a light this strong. Would it hurt to use a small dose, or just wait it out until I see some improvements? I will give an update in about a day or so. I have moved the light up and brought temps back down to about 76 degrees. Thanks!

They should pull through. Next time stay away from the MG soil. Also make sure the soil is dry between waterings. Constant moisture can slow down growth and cause all sorts of issues with little ones. Those little plants can go a good while between waterings. I hope it turns our well for you .....GL

I'm assuming it's an air cooled hood, I've got my 1000w running at 400w and it's about a foot from them. Try to find your waters ph, don't quote me on it but I think mg soil is ph'd at 7 so higher ph water would start locking out your plants not to mention mg is kinda hot, could be nute burn.

Heat stress, overwatering, talk about your pH ?

It’s actually just a wing reflector and I will be checking ph in a few.
