Well . I must say it's glad to be back on this particular forum. I just started making friends here before the LA Fires. After a couple weeks I gave in and tried out ICMag, ThcFarmer , and some others . I felt out of place and grew with frustration realizing I couldn't talk to the online homies I've spent time getting to know since last year. I wondered if I was banned at one point . That was until I checked the server activity using a quick website on google . Anyways glad to be back

The data center was in an area of a wild fire that is correct, the company simply could not fix the connectivity issue, as a business we tried to work with them to give them the opportunity to get us back online, since we've been with them for so long

After giving them the 2 + weeks of trying, we decided to have them un-rack our servers, than ship them out to a new center that in itself takes time, as you can imagine these "tubs" are physical piece and they contain ALL of rollitups data,it was important to us to ensure they did not get damaged in transit so we had to get safe transit.

From there they had to be placed back online and booted back up, and we had to do that slowly to ensure nothing was erased our communities data is very important to us because it means so much to the community, we could easily throw something online if we wanted to lose everything since 2006, but we dont want our members to lose everything

Its not as simple as plug it in, and unplug it, and it does in-fact take time to do it.

Hope that helps
Thanks for the explanation. You were missed!

I joined THCfarmer to ask some and everything (i didn't know) goes right to Google search, no privacy when I searched my name so I appreciate riu doesn't throw us under the bus for bucks like that.

I asked them to delete my account but I'm not counting on it.

Anyway, glad your back. I'm cutting my girls in a day or two and missed having this community to share it with.

I tried THCfarmer, no privacy there at all.

This is a good sales pitch for cloud hosting, and highlights the pitfalls of physical servers.
Sometimes, no matter what avenue you choose there will always been a problem at some point and someone will say something like this regardless , do you know what i mean?

Like no matter what set up your have that is what others think is the proper one sometimes shit just breaks and you cant make everyone happy no matter what physical or cloud you used.

I wonder if they paid money to Morgan Freeman so he would mention them in the movie?

Product placement marketing is a thing, after all.
Nah, that was also in King's short story, Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption. If anything they paid King, but that little town has zero money so I doubt it ;) They do have affordable hookers, though...
