wet vs dry volume

I understand that wet vs dry weight is about a 75% decrease but what about volume? if you fill a jar up with fresh wet bud, how full would it be once its dried?
 
well man i don't think id put fresh wet buds into a jar until i had dried them out somewhat...so a great deal of what every shrinkage that's gonna happen willl have already happened....so by the time you put it into the jar its about the way its gonna be...at least that's the way its went for me...
 
well obviosly dry first. I meant theoretically speaking. If you were to harvest, manicure, fill up a jar with the fresh wet bud then take it out to dry. how full will the jar be once you put them back in for curing? also, does any shrinking occur during curing?

If you fill the jar with wet bud you will end up with a jar full of mold. You need to dry it before you put it in the jar to cure.
 
everyday in the jar youll see a difference for a solid week or two of shrinkage, just my experience at the moment. a full jar when first placed in the jar will prolly end up 3/4 of the jar when its ready
 
Well if you look at other people's grows, and look at their before and after drying pictures, theres about a 40-60% decrease in size.

Ive experienced about the same...A big bowl of wet buds will be about half as much after drying.
 
Size wise my bud drops in size about 40% But I've got that fluffy CFL bud. I think denser bud will shrink less.
 
nobody can answer as nobody would waste the time to kill a plant that isnt ready to go into jars and risk loosing it all...tell us when yours dry.

thanks, thats the answer i was looking for. so many people over analized the question...
 
well all ya had to say is ya wnated a wild guess then. thats all youll get unless you do it yourself and see. you cant tell anything on weight fronma pic of dryin buds. will all dpend on how it was fed as for how much sweeling we loose. tighter packed ones wont loose as others do like under a cfl

Im pretty sure nobody was talking about taking plants early there buddy. he was wondering how much bud shrinks as it dries. and please tell me how what you feed your plants has anything to do with shrinkage during drying.
 
ya miss use of words. should have said waste time placing wet buds ealry in jars.... what we feed and amounts we feed has everything to do with dry versus wet wet. that is why we feed isnt it, i dont feed to make mine lighter and smaller
