I work at a pond shop where i sell pond equipment and fish

We sell LED lights here with an

input: 120V 60Hz
output: AC 12V/ 500Ma
conumption power: 5w

I'm wondering if these lights would add a boost to my plants now
cause i read somewhere LED are good for plants too

and just out of curiosity, would color matter?
cause we have the rainbow in LED lights.

well im really confused, and I can only get them today
I believe they are 1,000 lumens all together
should I do it or not?

I already have 4 cfls on my plants
would it make the grow faster and bigger?

if theyre the right kinda LEDs yes they work OK (not great)
If theyre the LED lights for fish and reptiles etc...those are the ones that can be used.
You want a good mix of box colors...LED technology is not quite there at the moment altho they are getting better and better all the time.
I use a 12x12" LED panel with 225 mixed red/blue LEDs for vegging my seedlings...and once theyre a lil bigger(4 sets of leaves, i use the CFLs for the tops and sides, and put the panel somewhere real close to add supplemental lighting..If theyre Cheap or free get em..
Theres numerous threads on here bout LEDs and theres a coupla jounals too..which showed decent veg rates but they sucked balls for flowering.
But keep your eyes peeled....LEDs are the future of growing..but thats exactly the problem..We're not quite there just yet!!!

Lumens etc are not a good measurement for LED useage...Its the Nm rating..

If the packaging says anything like the info on this panel (see link) you can use them
