eh no, try something around 6500k for proper growth spectrum - $150 will get you a 400 watt digital ballast and full spectrum bulb from hidhut for example.

I just got my 400w HPS/MH system (and extra bulb) from High Tech Garden Supply yesterday. Good products, fast shipping, cool peeps. They even sent me a butane lighter with a bottle opener on it and their name on it. How cool is that?!? :)

Very nice guys!!! I am tired of paying the big mark up at the hydro stores. Those lights at HGT i think I can trust a lot more.

I went to a hydro store on Saturday to pick up a shitload of stuff. I was going to be buying a bunch of Advanced Nutrients stuff, some clay media, root pots, etc and the bastards were closed!!! Can you believe the morons were closed on Saturday??? WTF are they thinking!!? I'm damn tempted to open my own hydro store.

hgtsupply.com...i got my 400 wat lite with 2Xmetal halide 2X hps bulb and came with free timer for like 160... its a good site.. u can find them via ebay too..hope i help

I buy lights all the time on ebay and never had an issue. I get my 1000 watt ballast on ebay for under $40 and my 400 watt setup for about $24.No problems yet just no warranty but a magnetic ballast is easy and cheap to fix as most likely an igniter is the thing that would fail.
