MMIG was more than just a couple of dispensaries, and are you saying there was no lobbying group hired by them? Thats funny because I remember getting a call from them when I had my dispensary trying to get us to join with them, it seemed their biggest concern was caregivers and that they couldnt compete on a level playing field and if something wasnt done all these caregivers were going to drive prices to the point no one could stay in business. Guess they fixed that. At that time according to them they had more than half of the dispensaries on board AND a powerful lobbying group with connections to certain lawmakers. Do you deny any of this? Yes we were all caregivers, but this is a classic case of he who has the most gold makes the rules.

I don't think caregivers are pissed because they no longer can sell to dispensaries, its the fact that according to 1284 they cannot make any type of profit, they are limited to 5 patients, they must do other things besides provide marijuana, etc. All things dispensaries are immune from. Amendment 20 was not created for dispensaries to flourish, it was specifically for patients and caregivers, 1284 was written to screw caregivers and to protect dispensaries and give them a monopoly. It rewards the greediest, the ones who pushed the law as far as they could and fucks the ones who were keeping a low profile and trying to be within the spirit of Amendment 20.

"Back in the day" EVERYBODY was making bank, it wasn't just the dispensaries. If your friends were slinging lbs at 2k, they were low balling. Prices were much higher for growers back then. 3k, 3400 was super easy for quality wholesale.

Remember that the dispensaries also had overhead, rent, payroll, etc etc that came out of that, so it wasn't as great as your gross profit statement implies.
In the present day scenario, not so much. Your historical [pre hb10-1284] statement represents prices of 375 an oz retail.

In today's world you can get retail oz's all day long for 175...less than 1/2 of the "Back in the Day" prices. With wholesale oz running about 125 [2k+/lb] dispensaries can pull a whopping $50/z
Overhead for dispensaries is insane now, but you would have no clue about that. I think you will have a tough time selling the new BMW every year stereotype that you are portraying for present day dispensary owners. Many are giving up due to lack of profits.

I was not clear with my post I apologize, I harbor no ill will toward the dispensaries or their owners. If the quality is sub par I just say don't buy it. My frustration was with the legislation ruining it for caregivers like us, I totally respect the hardships and risks you took to achieve your business

Don't kid yourself, the dispensaries were behind large parts of 1284. Not all of them but without them 1284 would have never happened. During the 1284 debate you had Josh Stanley and Wanda James (founders of MMIG) going on radio and TV shows talking about how they were going to 'legitimize' the industry and that they were working on strains that didnt get you high, all attempting to sway the public in their direction.

of course the prices have dropped across the board...but dispensaries still turn a real nice profit... and i stand by my statement that pretty much every dispensary would go under if marijuana is legalized tomorrow...they know that, and that is why they would like to delay the inevitable .... right now they have the advantage of advertising and taking strangers off the street with a card..i would never do business with anyone i just met... and they grow in greenhouses and legal ops..so their product should be superior but it isn't.

not in CO. disp has to produce 100% of thier meds or buy from other licensed disp only. no sales from outside the tracking system allowed

In CO, dispensaries must grow at least 70% of the Meds that they sell. The other 30% can only come from other licensed dispensaries.

So no, You can not sell anything to a dispensary.
